I wouldn't call him a bust. Just another in a long line of QBs that were overrated coming out of high school.

I wouldn't even dare to call him over-rated. Generally speaking the transition from HS to College, most QB's don't see the field right away.

I could see him doing very well at ULala and transferring to a P5 for his SR season.

HE could be headed right back up the next year in the portal to a P5 team willing to pay him 7 figures to be their QB.

I really hate the current status of college sports.

This thread should be whacked. Kid left because he knew he was behind JD and Nuss. I wish the kid well and his father is a LSU alum. We have no reason to bag on this kid. The real answer is Perrilloux

OP has 197 post in one month…post less you fricking scumbag.

Was beaten out last year by the lefty true freshman. Wasn’t going to play there.

Honestly I dont think he wants to play or has the heart to play. I think he's just enjoying the NIL ride.

IMHO this is treading into the new norm, but I'm just an old fart that still feels you put on the jersey and play because you love the team.

Projecting QB’s, and how well they will do, is very difficult.

50% of QB’s drafted in the First round of the NFL draft are busts. Not 50% of QB’s drafted, 50% of 1st round picks are busts.

According to Desormeaux, the quarterback battle won’t be decided anytime soon as the Cajuns are in no rush to give any specific guy the starting role just yet.

“(Winfield) kind of brings a different dimension with what he does and he does some really good things day to day,” Desormeaux said. “Daniel (Beale) has been the most consistent which is to be expected at this point. But Walker (Howard) is one of those guys who naturally, you expect those all days to be a lot in a new system and as the week goes he continues to play better which is what you need.”

He got no NIL to transfer to ULL, not that they have much to offer anyways there to begin with. Just happens to be where he's from.

Shep actually helped us land a few big name recruits that year too. Not his fault Les didn't know how to use him.
