Voting out LSU - These types of actions don't just happen without a long drawn out process

No organization the size and stature of the SEC makes a knee jerk decision or reaction like this. As much as everyone here wants to call them retards etc there are logical people in these organizations that will not allow spur of the moment decisions like this to happen.
Especially when there is so much money on the line, and massive legal contract implications (TV Deals), and such high uncertainty of the "Pro-Players" status, and questions about if games would even be played in the immediate days ahead.

This is the part that gets me the most. LSU and ESPN would sue and WIN . So wtf are these idiots in the SEC thinking? The amount of lost revenue would be astronomical

I agree, which is what makes it much more likely the result of the vote will be a “sanction or probation” as opposed to expulsion. I’m sure they will also try to extract some sort of sign of contrition on LSUs part.
I cannot imagine in the two weeks since this kicked off all 15 schools have gotten comfortable with the amount of monetary liability they are exposing themselves to with this decision. Potential breach of contract with ESPN. Potential breach of contract with LSU. Detrimental reliance to LSU. Anti-trust and collusion.
We’re talking hundreds of millions of dollars for negotiating a tv contract on behalf of LSU supposedly locking us into a certain amount of revenue for a decade and then cutting that off immediately with no warning on a spurious claim, at best.

I tend to agree. However, the way things are playing out, it almost seems like there’s a movement to go after LSU for any reason that can be found. I mean, to even think about kicking out a flagship school for not even breaking a rule??? Something doesn’t add up here.

As someone said in another thread, the big ten didn’t consider expelling Penn State for running a child molestation ring.

Exactly. I don’t get it. I still haven’t seen where some rule was broken and it’s this kind of nuclear reaction. Doesn’t seem normal.

Sue Sankey, SEC and every other school and tie up in court for 5-10years and win now! If you get busted(which most likely you won’t) or years later it’s like “not getting credit for wins” years after the fact…. F the SeC & Sankey! Why doesn’t Texas or some of the other schools get the same treatment?
