VMI bullpen threw at least 3 balls into stands yesterday

While I admittedly haven’t been to a game in a few years, I have never seen a team miss so badly throwing bullpen that they’re hitting fans in the stands once much less the 3+ times that I saw. People sitting in the lower rows near VMI bullpen couldn’t watch the game when they had guys throwing because they were scared to get hit. Maybe this is more common than I’m aware of but I thought that was pretty crazy!

(This is not intended to dog the student athletes who were out there yesterday, more so just a crazy occurrence I thought was worth pointing out)

Them boys looked like the bad news bears yesterday falling over dropping pop ups. I get the sun and wind having an effect but they had 3-4 dropped IIRC

3 of em for sure. 1 was an outright drop by the 2b(i think. was in that area). But the CF and the LF each had terrible reads on fly balls. Both retreated way back to the warning track only to have the ball drop about 30 feet in front of them. The wind was blowing in but it still was crazy to see live(we sit in LF).

It’s a combo of things. They aren’t a good team (picked to finish last in the southern conference). That was their 4th game in 3 days. And they were completely out of pitchers (probably because it was their 4th game in 3 days).

The later it gets into the weekend, the harder it is for these small teams. They just don’t have the depth at pitching

Woodward better give CJJ the upgrades he wants. Especially moving the bullpen off the field.

Would LSU be liable if a fan takes a warmup pitch off the dome?

Those afternoon shadows are no joke, especially when they haven't played many games this year.

I find it difficult to track the ball thru the shadows and colors of the fans shirts when I sit in the outfield. I sometimes wonder how these young men do it.

Can confirm 3 balls. One into the gold seats and thankfully 2 hit the rail between section 118 & 119.

The funniest was Trav's pop fly. Dude parked about 30 feet behind where it landed Judging where he was standing, on TV I thought it was a HR

I saw something a bit more spectacular. Some dude yesterday, carrying nachos with extra cheese, clipped his left foot on one of the steps as he was going up and face planted his entire face in his nachos. It was a America’s Funniest Videos level winner.

Every ball park ever up until the last 20 years. Baseball players seat with bullpens in the field for 120 years.

The visiting teams will still be in the same area but fenced off and out of the field of play. The home pen is moving behind the RF fence.

Yeah he ran back to the wall, looked up, and dropped several feet in front of him. The wind was blowing in and I think kept the ball from being a homer
