Definitely not bad but not good enough to overcome the tape from this past season. He needs to interview and test very well if he wants to improve his draft stock much.

Eh. That 5.04 will really help him. The NFL routinely takes people that have great measurables that weren’t superstars in college.

The scouts aren’t worried about his tape, he’s going to get drafted because of his measurables and the 40 time is only going to help his case.

DT 40 times

I'd agree if he ran a 4.8 but a 5.04 isn't "great measurables" its pretty good. Look at all the guys that have better tape than him AND ran faster than him.

His 10 yard split was also middle of the road.

He weighed in at 306 pounds. Its not like he was 330 running a 5.04. This idea that he has measurables that are way better than other guys is a myth. The only thing he has thats definitively better than other guys is arm length.

Hopefully he lifts 225 25+ times but his arm length will work against him on that drill.

Braden Fiske 4.78 is crazy

There will be linebackers slower than that.

Wingo also has the fastest 10 yard split which is arguably more important for DTs than the 40.

I won't be surprised if Wingo has a better time than Speights when he runs.

A great combine can definitely overcome it.

Nothing is great about a 5.02 40 for a 300 pounder. It’s not 1999

You have to blow the combine away if you want measurables to overcome bad tape. Running and jumping in the middle of the pack of the DTs at the event isn't having a "Great" combine.

By no means am I trying to say he hurt himself with that time but he definitely isn't leaping guys on draft boards because of it. He was a 5th-7th round pick before the event and he most likely still sits there.

What combine is Speights at? He sure as hell didn’t get invited to the nfl combine

I see Wingo checked in at 6' even. Good for him, thought he might be shorter.

And Maason's draft just tanked a little bit more. Anything with a 5 is slow.

31" Vert and a 9' Broad. All very middle of the pack stats for a DT.

He better show out on the Bench.

For normal people yes.

But When measured against past combine data for the position, he falls in line with the median.
