He definitely wouldn’t have done that under coach O.

Its amazes me people thought he was 'checked out' (due to his performances), but everyone knew he has a serious injury and 2 surgeries wo a Spring. He is/was definitely a step slower.

Its takes time to recover and trust yourself again, his injury was right at a year ago. I bet he's starting to get that step back.

Thank BK for not giving up on him and bringing him back into the fold. That's what a good coach does. Glad KB is back because he is a talent and we need him down the stretch.

You can tell by that speech that he isn’t really comfortable being a vocal leader either. Which is fine not everyone is and I think that plays a lot into what people see as pouting on the sidelines when that’s just the guy he is always.

Hopefully a lesson he can take to the pros.

Not really. He (and probably the other WRs) were clearly frustrated because they weren't getting the ball. Even on occasions where they were open. Remember, last year before the injury Boutte looked like the best WR in the country. He was scoring TDs in every game.

LSU's offense finally got him free on some plays and Daniels found him. Hopefully what we saw on Saturday was the next progression of the offense and not an anomaly

Frustration does not equal checked out. In fact, I would argue it’s the exact opposite.

BK really has these guys fighting. Honestly another coach coming in, our guy's would maybe be at 3-4. With only 2 losses right now, after seeing us play and having the mental mistakes we've had is great. Excited for the next few years to come. I feel like we're going to have a good run once Kelly's roots are in.

I think he’s just a quieter introvert and people think that’s pouting

He will never be that leader who motivates guys. They may respect him, but he is not a speaker . You can hear a lot of the players in the background talking over him. If a true leader the players respected was giving a speech, it would be just like when a coach is speaking and everyone would be quiet and listening.

I am just glad he has quit whining so much. Props to Kelly for staying with him.

CBK has great instincts regarding what these players need on an emotional level. He’s careful not to throw them under the bus to the media while still acknowledging weaknesses. He chews their arse when it’s warranted, but encourages and lifts them up when it’s needed. Making him game captain was very strategic on an emotional level. These are just kids, and you need to be a parent as well as a coach. Loved his interaction with Bech after his screw up when the kid was obviously so emotional.

What stood out to me is that this coaching staff isn't just coaching football, they are coaching character and leadership traits that show up on and off the field.
I want LSU to excel in sports, all sports- but maybe even more, I want these athletes to leave there better human beings, better prepared to succeed at life.

That’s because he was just talking to the offense. The defense was on the other side of the locker room talking
