OK Doc. Stop thinking about the word abuse here. His body language is combative and he's all in her face and nudging her and she's trying to avoid him. Then you see JJ walk by, not even acknowledge them and hug some girl looking as cool as can be. Which one of those guys looks wired up for a fight?
Btw, on a side note, as a guy with a wife who works with abused women I'd say what he was doing, now knowing their history, could be considered abusive.

"abuse" is a very vague charge.
People are implying that lowery is "roughing up" his ex gf, when the video clip we can see tells another story.
He's obviously harassing her, and it's unwanted. We all know by now, or should, that lowery is not innocent in this incident.
But to imply that he's beating up his ex in the bar is bullshite.

Don't forget that she (the ex) has stated that Lowery got physical with her and one of her friends in legal documents.
ETA: While the video doesn't show anything that would be enough for Lowery to be brought up on charges, it does appear to show some hostility between he and the ex-girlfriend which help corroborate her account.

Lowery's behavior is obviously unwanted by the ex gf. Anyone can see that.
