After the Texas game that LSU wasn’t able to cover receivers, get pressure on the qb etc at all like he thought they were going to be able to. And had he would have to rebuild the defense during the season. This all while we had tremendous injuries going on.

Hats off to Dave Aranda - the job he’s done this year is phenomenal.

Aranda is a Top 5 D coordinator...period.
Anyone doubting that should get their head checked

Could you imagine how many games we would have won this season had Aranda not had to overhaul the defense?

Cubelic is one of the few talking heads I really respect. He knows the game from having played and provides a lot of great insight. For all the criticism he received this year, Aranda and his defense got the job done when it mattered most.

It was obvious we needed to rebuild the defense. Going into next season I feel far better about every unit. Going into this season, I knew our secondary would be thin. Hats off to the coaches who got us the depth we needed to run what we needed.

Last night was the most animated I’ve seen Coach Aranda ever. He was feeling it.

This defense never got the credit they deserved.
They were largely overshadowed by the offense.
The last quarter of the season, it did it's job!

Aranda did a hell of a job. Holding Clemson to 1-11 on 3rd down is unreal. His half time adjustments were money.

I think it was evident the defense got stronger late in the season as they got healthier and Aranda reconfigured to get more pressure on the opposing teams QB.

Was this a 2003, 2007 or 2011 LSU defense? No, but they didn’t have to be in order to win. Still a very talented defense that came on
strong down the stretch run, improving each game.

Nothing.

This D line is skilled enough to affect the qb. They just never really got it done. Learning to play opposite a quick strike spread offense and mid season injuries also play a huge role- especially when you're reserves are pretty much all true freshmen.

LSUs defense faced three of the nation's elite QBs consecutively in the final 3 games of the season. Jake Fromm, Jalen Hurts, and Trevor Lawrence.

Combined, they were 53 of 110 (48%) with 1 TD and 3 interceptions.

There is literally NOTHING wrong with Dave Aranda.
