Kelly is the one that set the expectations for the playoffs this year with his comments. After seeing this OL for 8 games, its hard to imagine that anyone who watched practices should have agreed with Kelly’s assessment. But the sports media just parroted what Kelly said and ran with it.

Which brings us back to the man who brought you Brian Kelly. Glad that Scott Woodward is gone. I think he deliberately hired a man he knew would accomplish fukall while the head football coach at LSU.

You gotta crawl before you walk. LSU really didn't even get close to the playoffs during 4 years of Kelly. How can you talk about a championship when you don't even qualify for the opening rounds?

In 3 of Saban’s 5 years at LSU, LSU did not finish in the top 12. He finished his 3rd season unranked. He lost 3 SEC games in those three years.
So what Verge is saying is LSU should be something that even the GOAT couldn’t achieve while here but easily achieved at Bama. Verge needs to look into a mirror to figure that one out. It’s more than the Coach that’s the issue at LSU.

We have won three national championships in modern history
One with the greatest coach in the history of CFB…who stated multiple times his worst decision was leaving LSU

It’s not my money to spend, but I’ll say this. If we’re going to spend top tier money on our program and have top tier facilities, we damn sure be competing at the top. It makes no sense to spend at the top and begin the season 13th ranking at best and end the season lucky to get back there if not unranked. That’s incompetence
