Verge Ausberry appreciation thread

I know the dick with ears calls Verge a puppet.
However who was the first person telling BK he was a disgrace after the A&M game? Who had the swagger and nuts to go out and get Kiffin and Wade? Who put together all this money? Verge is all in LSU and has been here since he was a Captain on defense. Always the man behind the man and stepped up when we needed someone to guide us back on the right path. Puppet my arse. I guarantee you there's a very long game being played by Verge and LSU stability is at the heart of it.
Could you imagine if Woodward or God forbid Alleva was AD? We would have some vanilla mediocre coach who is more interested in politics than coaching. THANK YOU VERGE for standing firm and being THE man!

More of a figure head. A good one too. The money people must be involved in any big decisions. It’s just the way it is now for the big 2 sports. He’s very good at doing what’s required of him. Glad he’s the guy.

Verge was the only choice in my book and Rousse agreed.
Finebaum has limited sources in Alabama who tell him governor Landry runs the show and Rousse has no voice.
As far as I know Landry lets him do his job. As it should be.
I do not listen to his radio/tv show he hates LSU his career started in Louisiana and it failed miserably. Thank goodness we dodged that disease.

The money people have always been involved though. What I don't understand is why Verge is the only one being treated this way, like even our own fans I've seen basically says he does nothing, like when Kiffin and Wade were hired they act like he has nothing to do with it, but every other AD in history gets all the credit for their hires even though they always needed the money guys to put up the money which they wouldn't do if they didn't agree with it.
Verge has been a part of this athletic department for 35 goddamn years starting as an intern and working his way up, he deserves more respect than he's been given like he's unqualified to be our AD. I understand it from opposing fans and clowns like Finebaum but I've seen some of our own fans even treat him differently which saddens me. I'm glad to see threads like this that give him his credit though, hopefully it becomes a more common sentiment, he's had to navigate a lot and he hasn't even been AD for a year yet and he's done a great job so far. That's really all that needs to be said

They hate Landry so much they can't even report things correctly.
I sound like a broken record, but it's so obvious how political this is.
Verge deserves a lot of credit. Not to mention he is one of the nicest people you will ever meet.
