Pretty sure SEC banned noisemakers. If HE'S the noisemaker, give him the boot.

But he is vandys “Chris” he whistles then the whole fan base claps, it’s their thing... I don’t like it but I get it. If the vandy fan base had some balls they’d all whistle tomorrow all game long lol

I’ve watched a lot of LSU baseball through the years. Chris has never got on my nerves, that’s part of it (cheering for your team). Constant whistling, that makes you want to quit watching the game is a complete other story.

The reason Vandy fans don’t get mad is baseball is the only sport they are relevant in, I honestly think they like the attention.

Nope. If anything, he's Vandy's Birdman.

OK, if they like it, then fine. But should he be allowed to do it at the SEC Tournament, the CWS etc.?

I don’t know, but where do you draw the line of what’s disruptive to the game and what’s not. I just think it sets a bad precedent is all.

I was listening to one of their games during the SEC tournament while working in my shop, so freaking annoying I had to turn it off. Both those guys are bums.

I am friends with tons of Vandy grads that are big baseball fans and have gone to plenty of games with them.

Not one of them likes the whistlers and most of them absolutely fricking hate the guys. They don't go to some midweek games because its not worth being around that. He's literally keeping fans from going.

Part of the blame can be put on Corbin. The whistlers have said if he asks them to stop, they will stop. And he won't do it.

This is a no win situation, IMO. I think if the noises are disruptive to the fan experience and people complain, then it should stop. However, that sets a precedent that if an opposing team doesn't like your "superfan , then they can complain to get it to stop.

Teams like Mississippi St have the cowbells, and Vandy has the whistlers. It is hard for me to watch Vandy baseball because of the whistlers, but I don't think there is a solution to the problem that won't offend fanbases.

So all people have to do is say they’re aggravated with someone yelling to get them kicked out? Where do we draw the line?

Clearly you aren't familiar with this situation if you're equating what the whistlers do to someone just yelling.

Oh geez quit being a pussy.

Its 2 guys ruining the game for others. There is not some consensus support for them from Vandy fans. Most don't want them whistling.

Just get the SEC commissioner to ask Corbin to tell them to stop. They will stop if that happens.

We draw the line at constant whistling. This isn't the court of law. Precedent really doesn't fricking matter.

It really doesn't.

There are superfans everywhere. People keep trying to equate this to Guillot, but that's misguided.

No one is telling the network broadcasting the games that their ad revenue is in jeopardy because Chris is leading cheers.

It doesn't have to be black and white. Things can be assessed on a situation by situation basis.

And the Vandy whistlers should be brought out into centerfield and shot in the back of the head execution style.

Not at all IMO.

The difference is that the whistlers have a direct correlation with decreased viewership and according to a poster above, decreased attendance at some Vandy home games.

When the “superfan” starts costing the networks and by extension the schools and baseball programs money, then the fan needs to be reigned in or removed.

Likewise for anyone damaging the fan experience for others.

It’s not that hard. Common decency is (or at least should be) common enough that most can agree when something is clearly over-the-line and unacceptable.

Common decency standards would not dictate that someone like Guillot be removed or asked to stop. Common decency dictates that the whistlers should have stopped their antics the moment they learned that they were a nuisance to everyone else in attendance and watching on TV/streaming.

The only precedent is that anyone who bothers a majority of other fans be forced to discontinue the bothersome behavior or leave the venue. I have no problem with that.

That precedent would not affect Guillot. Deangelo Sanchez? Probably. But not Guillot, K-lady or other “superfans” whose behavior doesn’t cause people to leave or change the channel.

This would not impact cowbells either because the majority in the stadium participate and have no objection.

fricking this! But instead they doubled down on their annoying behavior, which tells me that they think it's all about them and not the team. And that's where the line is drawn. When a fan crosses over from supporting their team to drawing attention to themselves then I don't consider them a "superfan" anymore. K-lady kind of does that but at least she's not disturbing the other fans around her.
