I was thinking the same thing but I think LSU has to settle for field goals at some point:

LSU scored 34 points after being handed 3 turnovers with great field position and a pick 6. Vandy's defense is as good or better than State's who will prove to be one of the worst defenses LSU faces this season.

Every game is different but I don't see how LSU suddenly has an offensive explosion (while missing their LT).

LSU gets Stingley back and we don't have to face an air raid or a senior experienced QB or star RB, so i say 20 points given up defensively. Last year the defense only allowed 24 points (14 extra points came on our offense giving Vandy TDs), and those 3 TDs came from a senior transfer RB that had back to back thousand yard seasons and a senior QB.

About their defense, it can't be much better than Miss St, and is more than likely worse. Brennan got game on jitters out, hopefully we feed Emery, and the TEs and WRs get on the same page with Brennan. So my guess would be 38-41 points.

I don’t know what to think. No way I’m predicting the outcome of this game.

I have no idea.

I'll just say that Brennan slings it more, leads to more converted first downs and touchdowns, but also more mistakes. Vandy gets a short field a couple of times because of it and gets it over the goal line. Overall we pull away in a boring game in which we are at least confident that we can compete with everyone on the schedule going forward.
