re: Vandy coach only rebuilt a moribund program in less than 2 years

John Brady lost Tack Minor in 2005 before leading the team to a Final Four. He also lost Tasmin Mitchell in 2007 and was then fired during SEC play. Why does McMahon get a special pass for injuries?

I remember our January road thrashing at Vanderbilt. That game was all but over after the first 5 minutes.
McMen were encouraged that we “kept it close” even though they obviously coasted the whole second half.

Yeah. Take Tanner and their first big sub off the bench and say that. Pretty sure? Really? Nah.

McMahon is the only coach to ever lose a key player to injury. What must he make of all these coaches whose teams don’t fold into the toilet bowl after a player gets injured.
McMahon: “OoOoO look at me in Grant McCassland and i lost my best player and still keep winning give me a break pal!”

Didn’t say he should get a pass. I’m simply replying to a stupid statement. You can criticize McMahon for a lot of things. But to act like losing Thomas and Reed didn’t affect this team is just plain stupid.

It might have cost us 2 wins. We would have been eliminated late Wednesday night as opposed to lunch time Wednesday. Big McDifference.

Will Wade lost Adam Miller before the 2021-2022 season. Injuries are part of college basketball. You act like this absolves McMahon of any responsibility for his record and it’s absurd.

The next McMen meeting will be epic.
Pirate king- “ok guys who wants to stick these McBeads in my arse tonight?”
Mcpuff- “well I would but im composing an essay comparing a healthy Jalen Reed to Hakeem Olajuwon. Brb crunching numbers.”
Broken arrow- “frick Will Wade.”
Tigersbb- “these lobster puffs are moribund. The pastry chef deserves draconian sanctions.”

I had never heard of Byington when Vandy hired him. McMahon on the other hand was well known and respected from his tenure at Murray St. It's really odd how things work out

Shhhh! That’s not allowed!
Wade also had players leave for the draft. At least we don’t have to worry about that anymore.

Never said anything about absolving anyone. Just said saying losing Thomas and Reed having no affect on their record this year is stupid.

McLoser got blown out to Texas Tech with a healthy Thomas. That was a harbinger of things to come. The record would have been about the same.

Byington was doing an incredible job at James Madison
Scott Woodward just needed to divert his eyes from his daily bucket of slop and make a decent decision for a change

Im actually happy McM isn't canned yet, it lends to the theory that our coach is still coaching

I just hope it isn’t Wade or bust.
If he says no it can’t be “aw shucks, guess we’ll McRun it back.” Have a list ready. I mean it’s gonna be hard to come in and be worse than McMahon. This program is worse than probation. Woodward tried to save us from probation and ended up giving us the death penalty. What an absolute donkey.

My sauce still thinks we’re going to land pear but the donor appetite is 100% pear or bust.
Posted on 3/14/26 at 3:09 pm to tigerbait2010
The only reason im not melting about Landry appointing all his cronies is first, Kiffin and now hopefully pear.

The turnaround in Nashville has been insane to watch. Most programs take four or five years to even see a winning season, but they did it in two. It’s definitely a tough pill to swallow when you're looking at the state of things elsewhere in the SEC.

And Wade got blown out by VA twice and by 42 to Louisville. So what. We lost to Vandy by 11 on the road but you think 23ppg 8 rpg and 5 assists pg wouldn’t make a difference. We lost to Tenn on the road by 10 with 41 ppg on the bench but you don’t think that makes a difference. If tiu weren’t such emotional bitches you’d have some credibility.
