Utah State, Liberty, East Tennessee St....

A lot of folks wondered why you play these teams in the OOC in basketball and now with ETSU just punching their ticket all 3 won their conference tournaments as well as Liberty and ETSU winning the regular season titles in their respective leagues. That's 3 tourney teams we played OOC probably not many people thought much of prior to the season. Wade really is a genius scheduler.

Well yeah, LSU has the #8 non-conference schedule in the country and it'll pay off come selection time.

Works a lot better if you beat Utah State and ETSU, but those losses don’t really hurt.

for net ranking sure it helps to win, but as far as team intangible playing a tougher team is good to get them ready

People don’t recognize the team they automatically classify it as our schedule sucks. They want a non conference schedule full of big name teams like Duke, Arizona and Kansas.

Or they’d rather play a “name” like Nebraska or Kansas State when they have like 15 combined wins.

They have to be good in football for the rant to think it's a quality opponent in basketball. It's really weird, but understandable when you consider how simple some of the people are here. Those same people treat ever loss just like it's a football loss as well.

It’s amazing. Despite the evidence that he knows what he’s doing with the schedule, you’ll hear the same complaints next year. We’ll lose a few games and people will be whining that we don’t have any margin for error to make the tournament.

In the interview today with Moscona, Wade said he expects to be seeded better (by a spot or 2) than the analysts are predicting due to the committee's consistent history of rewarding teams that schedule good teams out of conference.

Win 2 games in the tourney and we are definitely better than an 8 seed

Yeah. I think 8 seed is where they will fall personally, but making it to tourney finals may get you to a 7 seed. Will be interesting to see how UF, AU, and LSU are all seeded. SEC Tourney will likely play a significant role.
