Feels like USC has us completely outclassed in terms of size. Feels like we are a div2 program going up against a div1.

I think Emory Jones is more impressive looking getting off the bus than him...just saying.

Can we all just sit back and realize just how massive these human beings are?

This. The USC guy is a large human. So are all our Oline guys. If that video was of one of our giant human beings, it would have lots of upvotes.

Just chuckled at the post, but appreciated seeing a recent tabulation of the numbers on our O-line (thanks).

6'5" or perhaps 6'6" and 320, so that would make him somewhat above average size if he was an LSU offensive lineman.

(Our freshman, Ory Williams out of San Marcos, TX, would look like the USC player's big brother - 6'8", 334.)

I want to tell a funny story - true story - about "back in the day" LSU football team.

It was 1989 or 1990 and I was stopped in my car on Nicholson in the shadow of the stadium. Back then, the players walked between what is now the CMac (The Ponderosa) and the stadium. This was before the football operations building, before the super advanced practice facility and all that infrastructure. It was August football, and the offensive line crossed Nicholson (at the light) in full pads, carrying their helmets. Each one was as big as my car.

Players are, on average, quite a bit bigger now. I remember that because there was that 1 amazing class by Dinardo that they signed 10 300 pounders. Hell, on today's team, there are 25+ men on the roster who go 295 or bigger.

Point or shooting guard?

Seems better suited to play power forward.

Legit CSB on your part.

I have a similar realization my freshman year at LSU almost 20 years ago. We had 2 kids go on to play D1 football in my graduating class and the one beneath me, both on the D Line. The dudes were big, but in my mind I could still take them. Fast forward to my first week on campus and I’m going to a calculus class in Locket and I see a man have to suck and turn sideways to fit through the door exiting the building.

I had never seen anyone built like that and it was at that moment I realized how massive these dudes were and that if I was ever in a fight with one I’d probably die.

Their OL was pretty bad last year, so people must be looking for reasons why they'll be improved. That's the only thing I can figure.
