No justification whatsoever to move this game to Baton Rouge. It will not happen.

But BR has such great infrastructure! No city closer to Columbia can say that!

Oh, we're comparing this to Katrina now?

Gotcha. Move the game, blow the levees, send in Chris Kyle.

And apparently no other football stadium between Columbia and BR has ever held an actual football game. No way they can be trusted to handle the logistics of this.

Mike the Tiger was seen on Colonial Life Arena's roof picking off looters a couple days ago.

Lets face it, at this point, they are more worried about getting the game played than people's schedules.
At this point, it could be too late to cancel hotels and other travel arrangements.

I feel for everyone in SC, and I feel for those right now that have to make the decision whether or not to get on a flight for the game. The game needs to be decided on where it is going to be played. I am fine wherever the game is, but just make the announcement.

People are already going to lose money on flights if it is moved to BR, but they need to decide so some folks don't end up flying to SC and stuck there until their plane leaves Sunday.

You have no idea what has been happening behind the scenes these past couple of days. For all we know, Williams-Brice has never been considered and these past couple of days have been spent solely on looking at alternative sites.

that's honestly what i think has been happening. obviously ray tanner or anyone with any power in the matter isn't going to make an official announcement until everything is set in stone. but i think options began being explored the minute things got bad in columbia.

well from a monetary stand point, if the game can't be in Columbia, they'll recoup more money having it here

What do you think they're just not going to ever announce it?

Yeah, it's too bad football season is going right now; utilizing the fields one would need for a game like this.

I mean once you get outside of 2-3 of columbia nothing else makes sense. They wont make any money having the game in birmingham.

Clearly if stadiums within a 2-3 hour radius of Columbia arent available (and it looks like that is probably the case) then BR has to be the choice.

It is funny how such a fuss is being made on a game that will probably be a 3-4 touchdown blowout.
