ESPN has a vested interest and believe me, you know there pissed without having him on their tv coverage. I'm sure there not happy that LSU ruled him ineligible permanently and not the NCAA.

ball is in both courts...lsu has to be very careful not to violate any rules and still get him help at the same time and tm7 has to accept that and follow through.

While I and every other LSU fan would love to see Mathieu in an LSU uniform again, I don't think it will ever happen.
Right now we're seeing a kid who is just now realizing what he's done and the opportunity he has lost. For lack of a better word, he's "grieving" over the fact that he won't be playing football for LSU and with his friends this fall. At this moment, he likely can't imagine playing for McNeese, Jackson St., Grambling, etc. He still wants to play for LSU, and is thinking of ways in which that might still be possible. One of which is asking to sit out and possibly come back next year.
While those are likely his feelings now, eventually the "shock" will wear off and he will start to move on with his life and football career. Once that happens, someone (agent, friend, family) will get in his ear and tell him that he will be drafted in the NFL this spring and that he should start working towards that goal. At that point, the prospect of making at least 6 figures next year playing in the NFL will outweigh the potential (if there is any) of coming back to LSU.

LSU can kick him off if they want to. What rules would they be violating?

That's not what he's saying.
He's saying that LSU has to be careful to not violate rules when helping TM return to the team (like paying for rehab etc.)
Chill, brah.

They would not be violating any rules by not letting him back.
They are taking precautions so they don't break rules if he does come back.

Just hope it's not Nicholls as he'll be playing before 2500 fans, the competition he'd face would be a joke as far as his getting better and weed grows like wildfire down da bayou.

Either LSU follows their policy and dismisses possibly their "best" player, proving nobody is above reproach.
Or TM7 loves LSU so much that he decides it's worth sitting out a year and returning.
Kind of a win/win, if you ask me. I hope TM7 returns. That would be a great story.

well if it was 3rd fail then following policy would be sitting a year.

from what im hearing...the 1 year suspension didnt go over well between les and the badger, both sides were "butt hurt" after words were exchanged. cooler heads are trying to prevail at this point

Day 2, the saga continues. Are we still at 70/30?

that is what i figured happened. tm7 is a college kid and they dont take being told no well. Especially something like that so i could easily see it going over with him not being happy refusing terms and getting kicked. Then of course after talking to family and seeing the smaller side of football he realized that cooler heads need to prevail.

Yep. Sounds like he weighed his choices, and calmed down.
This could work out well for both sides if they're smart.
