i guess I'm the only one on here but I loved those helmets, as did everyone I know that watched that game. Wish I could buy one because I would in a heart beat.

You’re not the only one. It’s just not cool to admit it. The oak leaf pattern in the purple numerals were a nice touch. To this day I am looking for the warmup tee for that uniform.

I still want Nike to make a polo shirt that has the oak leaves pattern from the numbers watermarked onto the fabric. I would buy 10 so I never ran out.

It looks shiny but still a nod toward traditional, in one LSU package. Don’t want every week, but sometimes good choice.

I loved it for that Miss State game. Didn't care for the jerseys at all but that helmet was awesome!

Personally I loved the Billy Cannon throwbacks from the Magnolia Bowl. Just the numbers on the gold helmets. Can’t beat it

I liked the purple helmets and the throwbacks they wore for Ole Miss. both looked fine for a one time thing.

Man, when I saw them play with these uniforms I was so disappointed. There's so much potential with that helmet and they dropped the ball with the cheesy airbrushing of the body panels all over the helmet. I get it was a military tribute so they wanted it to be military themed but just having 'STATE' written in military font with the American flag, the medals and the aircraft gray uniforms was enough on the military front. It would have been bad arse with just that and the maroon stripe with the classic 'Mississippi' written through it.
This is coming from an LSU fan, though. What do you Mississippi State fans think about it?

LSU, Tulane and Mississippi State, in that order, are easily the best ones out of that group.

It's like LSU's version of the Saints Color Rush uniform. I don't know why so many LSU fans hate the all whites yet the Saints Color Rush uniform is unanimously considered the best NFL uniform by pretty much everybody across the nation.
I also like anything LSU wears with a purple jersey. I hate that LSU always wears a cheap looking white jersey with 'gold' pants. Maybe if it was actually gold it would look a lot better.
And these are the best throwbacks even if they aren't real throwbacks and are just concepts.

Wish we could be what we are:
A top program with no need to appease young kids via a uni change.
LSUs traditional uni helmet combo is one of the best and there is no need to go all mountain west/ conf USA wjth any SEC teams uni form. Especially the big 6.
