O needs slap the big one on the table and tell Dave to keep his hands off their staff. Professional respect.
Exactly. That is an unwritten rule with coaches.

If Aranda is focused on building his staff for success, how is it HIS fault for seeking out someone who was not made a priority?

It's an unwritten rule with coaches. You do not pluck coaches from the team you just left. Call it a professional courtesy.

quote:

Saban talks about helping coaches get their jobs, in which he is a huge proponent, but says he has a hard time with coaches who don't understand why they can't take his people along to their new destination. Saban says it destroys continuity; he mentioned some departing coaches don't seem to understand or care.

Belichick chimed in saying he is all for people who have worked hard to get their own opportunities, but he wants to see them build their own programs; when they try to tear down the program they are leaving - that's where the line gets crossed.

Losing respect for DA if true.

Why?

You dont steal coaches from the school you just left to build your staff. That is like helping to build a house on a property, then stealing materials from the site you are working on to go use those materials on your home that you are building.

Nick Saban made up that rule. It's not really a unwritten rule. Saban only said that because his former coaches are hiring coaches from Nick's staff.

Wrong. Belecheck and many other coaches agree with that unwritten rule. Some people dont have the chest to build something or stand on their own. They have to steal from the cupboard they left rather than do it the right way. Hell, there is even honor amongst thieves.

If LSU never offered Munoz a full time coaching job, this isn’t on Baylor or Aranda. They are simply offering him the job he wants while his current employer is not.

All of you would leave in the same situation.

We realistically can’t keep finding “Brady’s” and keep this marriage going. I hope O realizes this and hires a young innovative OC and moves E back to a position coach.

This is exactly right. He is an analyst. Not the passing game coordinator at LSU. It isn't stealing him to be an analyst at Baylor. He's offering a promotion. Any coach that's on LSU's staff that Aranda wants to promote to a higher, more lucrative position, is fair game IMO.

it isn't unwritten or anything and it happens. People who have a problem with it are weak. If LSU wants to keep him, offer him a promotion or raise. If not then expect him to go elsewhere. And coaches like to work with people they know and feel comfortable with, which is why you always see coaches following each other to new stops when a raise is offered.

People shite on Saban all year now taking one quote from him as gospel. I mean frick look how many former LSU coaches followed Saban to Miami and then Alabama.

So we go into the off-season without a passing coordinator and just hope that Ensminger can handle it on his own?

Seriously bro? There's an opening on the staff that will be filled. Why in the world would you assume that, just because this one specific person isn't hired, that the Ensminger will go it alone?

I'm all for Munoz. I defended him when idiots were blasting him when he got hired as an analyst. But if losing an analyst is our downfall, it was a house of cards anyway (same can be said about losing any specific coach).
