I was literally the only person screaming in my section for a couple of series, but eventually more people woke up (coincidentally in the second half when it cooled down) But i would like freak to know that Nico screamed on every defensive play of the game.

Yeah, I sit in the South and I thought people did pretty good with getting loud when it was really needed. It was hot and not the most exciting game ever. I personally enjoyed it, but it wasn't that exciting. Florida is kind of a boring team this year even though it's still Florida. I did notice that when the stadium did the L-S-U Tigers cheer, the West side was unbelievably weak. I didn't even hear anything the first two times around the stadium.

It was - it was also one of the very few great day game atmospheres. We've had some good ones, but not many great ones.

One of the best ever was a day game vs. Georgia in '03.

I just looked up the weather from both games on the lsusports.net stat index

Temperature: 85 deg Wind: E 5 mph Weather: 55% humidity

I'm not saying this is the entire reason, but I think a big reason is Alabama fatigue. Obviously they have won three of the last four BCS titles. The "Mulligan" of 2011 and their quick move back up to the top two after losing to aTm last year combined with the release of the 2013 "bridge" schedule (which was tailor-made for Bama to have a cake walk into the BCSNCG) has made LSU fans wary of becoming excited about the season.

Nice post. And I think you're right.

If we beat Ole Miss and Bama, then TS will be deafening for aTm because the LSU fair weather crowd will have hope. If we lose one of those then the NC game or bust attitude of most Tiger fans will cause the aTm game atmosphere to be a lot like the Florida game. General apathy towards the rest of the season and a mid-tier bowl will set in.

Too much TV, too much winning (fans aren't as hungry for Ws like back in the day), too many people just showing up to say they were there and leaving quickly (because they aren't really interested), etc.

Also, it doesn't help much that our games at home have not been that close. Auburn was over almost immediately and this was a decent game, but Florida never really threatened that much. Tiger Stadium is loudest when LSU is trying to come back or hold off an opponent to secure a win. There hasn't been much of that.

That and people generally suck these days. I think that sums it up. But I still have fun...

I definitely feel like our fan base is just so spoiled it's almost beyond repair. I remember the 2001 season and how much fun that was...that could never happen these days with a 3 loss team, nobody would attend games after the 2nd loss

Ive never seen so many people in the concourses during a game.

concession lines were a mile long and then a lot of people were just sitting in the concourse on their phone.

mostly women.

Yeah it was hot but like someone else said... bitch im from loweeziana. I can deal. If the players can play in the heat...I can sit and watch.

It was pretty damn hot (it ain't stopping me...I'm just saying).

That UGA game had an unbelievable build up and people were on the edge of their seats for every play. We were both ranked so high that everyone felt it might have NC implications. This weekend was nothing like that.

If it were bama, that atmosphere would have been different. So the heat excuse is bullshite. It comes down to the fact we have had so much success, we are only gonna get up as fans for a game like bama or against a great team with a player like manziel

I just don't understand the excuses....for Auburn, people were saying it was too cold.....it was in the 60s

Then for Florida, it's in the 80s and people say it's too hot. How can you win?

I pretty much agree, but I think you would have seen the crowd get more vocal if the game Saturday wasn't pretty boring. You notice the weather more when there isn't much going on. 17-6 games are not the norm anymore.

That doesn't explain all the people who never showed up to begin with.
