You cant help but fight everything that makes O look competent, can you?

Tell me something we don't already know.

I have a feeling that LSU is going to be one of the surprises of college football this year, as strange as that is to say. This team is built to be a very difficult match up physically. ALOT of power and size.
People should slap themselves in the face every time we say we're going to "surprise." LSU shouldn't have to surprise anyone.

It’s nice to hear it from him, but anyone that’s kept up, has known for awhile that this front 7 is the deepest we’ve had in some time.

I hear what you’re saying, but Aranda has never been given to hyperbole.

I knew you were gonna say something like that and it's why I even put the qualifier in the question. I was simply asking you a question I thought you knew the answer to. I mean, you stated in your post as if you knew exactly which coach was responsible for getting the kids on campus.
To answer your question directly, I give Orgeron credit all the time.

Cannot wait to see this defense in action.

it was Orgeron. as a DL coach mostly but now as a HC. Miles was not a good DL recruiter and neither was Haley or Chavis.

I have to say I have actually read you do just that.

I don't know. I dont really care to split hairs about who was in the recruiting class already when O took over. I know they want to rotate 8 guys at the least. And outside of Feheko only 2 others are draft eligible. Meaning the rest of the guys come from the last 2 classes.

Thanks. I didn't know for sure, but it seemed like you were short changing Miles a little bit of credit for the roster. There is no denying that Coach O has done a good job with the roster, especially this off season. I hope the coaching changes pan out and if the offense can get it going, I think this can be a very good football team.

Yep! I say just kill 'em all (teams) and let God sort them out.

The whole roster wasn't bad, but the 2 lines along with LB lacked talent and depth. We had 6 guys from the OL/DL in this past draft, and only 1 was drafted, which happened to be Will Clapp in the 7th Round.

You Ogre pumpers can say what you want, but Ogre was the DL coach and/or recruiting coordinator the last couple of years under Les Miles.

Why does this keep coming up? It's no surprise LSU is talented. We should be competing for the west.
The question mark is at head coach. Everyone knows what LSU is capable of.

i dont think you understand the staff hierarchy of recruiting.

Better than average QB and great D.

Got a few minutes with LSU DC Dave Aranda today at Saints Camp. “Our strength on Defense this season is the front seven. Talented group and we can generate pressure from the inside and also off the edges. Best group I’ve been around because of talent and also excellent depth.”
Any knowledgeable LSU fan knows this. However, the media doesn’t, which is why they ranked us 5th in the SECW.
Our defense will be similar to 2011 as far as stats go.
CB depth is the only chink in the armor, but the F7 should nearly cover it completely,

I guess what I was really wondering is how many kids Miles had committed or was strongly recruiting for the '17 class to fill those needs before he was fired. Regardless of that though, the fact that Orgeron was able to keep that class together is simply amazing. I'm not sure how many other coaches would have been able to do that.
