Fairly obvious Glover has no clue how this works.

Cedric was absolutely correct in his response (and to some degree in his original post).

No reason why student athelets shouldn't share in all this revenue (which would require an NCAA rule change).

The student athletes get screwed financially.

What does that have to do with licensing the LSU logo to a local brewery?

It has nothing to do with the original issue. He's deflecting.

You do realize how many student athletes there are in this country right?

You do realize how much money student athletes generate for their schools? It is well over $1.0 billion.

And how is this relevant to pushing a bill that would disallow LSU to license their logo to a local brewery?

sure do.

So lets say it was $2 billion. Between 460,000 student athletes that would be roughly $4500 per athlete.

The deflection is still a terrible point. Just showing that

And a slice of that revenue should go to the athletes.

I think student athletes should get a slice of pie (*upon graduating), but has little to do with his bill, or Fking. It's just political noise for ignorant folk.

Think of the money the school could pull with this deal. It doesn't make a lot of sense to oppose this.

4-YR grad rate for freshman class of 2012 was 38%.

Not that this will sway your opinion, but here's your requested link. This is obviously a number that the University wants to improve. As an effort to improve that number, the University tries to consistently deliver a message to incoming students that partying your way through year 1 is a good way to become part of this statistic. My point that you will gloss over is that branding a beer with the LSU logo puts LSU in an inherently conflicting message.

Plus, LSU endangers itself in becoming "Hold my beer and watch this" State University. It's not worth the revenue. If you value higher education, bite the bullet and demand that your state legislature properly fund it through *gasp* taxes rather than having a bake, err beer sale.

The 4-year graduation rate does not equal half of a freshman class flunking out or failing, as your first comment claimed. The average time spent in college is right about 5 years now as is indicated by your own link.

I'm not glossing over your point, I fully disagree with it. I guess all alcohol ads where the companies say "Enjoy responsibly" is conflicting as well? How can they sell alcohol while encouraging responsibility.

Cedric may be accomplishing the impossible:
He's making F. King look reasonable.
