so you're caught up in semantics that are pretty irrelevant
its not semantics. there's a pretty clear cut definition of "suspect". and you're not a suspect just because the police want to talk to you.

"person of interest" is different than suspect
not much. it's a term police departments use to escape potential lawsuits when they don't have hard evidence they need. it has little bearing on whether they suspect someone of having committed a crime

lsupride: Why do you care what bbap and lsufball think what "suspect" means when we all know that he isn't a suspect. Proof: BRPD's words
bbap is confused (he is an Indiana fan claiming to be an LSU fan)
lsufball is confused (fball=football and he has a baseball picture)
Collins is currently not suspect

Yes he is a suspect. Might not be guilty but he is a suspect. Don't believe everything the cops tell you brah

you would think that he would voluntarily meet with BRPD asap to remove any cloud over draft day. Makes no sense.

It could be argued that meeting with the police might make it seem worse. The kid is in a bad spot where no action he takes is guaranteed to help him.
Nevermind the pointless arguing over technicalities and legal and common definitions then retarded and wrong accusations other LSU fans of wanting the kid to suffer.

I'd like to hear this argument, because I don't see it.

Hiring a criminal attorney...not really a bad thing in today's legal system.
Hiring a private investigator....kind of getting weird if you have nothing to hide.

Shaft's posts are gone because I RA'ed his dumb arse last night. Downvote me quoting him a few pages back, but Shaft Williams is the rant at its worst.
"Yo, I heard from my boy and he knows somebody...and he would know."
Sometimes people on here do know shite, but they know it because they are very close to the situation, not because "the streets" or "the tailgate" told them.

I assume it has something to do with cell phone records or hunting for cc footage wherever Lael remembered being at the time.
Kid is busy and needs someone to help out at home getting the police what they need.

I dont think he is hiring the PI for the police. That would make zero sense. I would imagine he is hiring a PI to clear his name to NFL gms before the draft since he knows this will not be cleared up before then

I'm with you on that. He was very clearly implying that he had some sort of incriminating knowledge, which is pretty shameful in addition to being total bullshite.
And to those who find it suspicious that La'el didn't come back straight away, people can't immediately meet with police all the time even though they're only a mile from the police station, much less in Chicago at the draft.

This x eleventy billion.
Draft starts in 30 hours or so, and he and his agent doesn't want teams to "take him at his word" alone, not if someone like a PI can pull together corroborating evidence ASAFP to confirm an alibi.

I didn't see anything indicating he is a suspect. The Advocate indicated BRPD said he was one of many people they want to interview. It's not uncommon to interview friends and acquaintances of murder victims for a variety of reasons. BRPD specifically indicated he was not a suspect.
I think his lawyer's/agent's comments clouded things more than anything else out there, talking about hiring a PI to determine where he was at the time. There was no mention of anyone asking his whereabouts other than his lawyer indicating they were gathering information as to his whereabouts. That was strange and seemed to blow things out of current proportion.
Maybe the police told the lawyer they wanted to know where he was at the time of the murder. We don't know.
La'el is probably taking advice from that lawyer/agent, as well, and he may have advised him to put the interview on hold until after the draft. If he did, it probably would have been better for the lawyer just to have said that and included that La'el doesn't have any information regarding the murder, but will be glad to answer any questions the police may have when the draft is concluded. Still makes it look like the draft is more important than the murder, but the lawyer takes the hit a bit more than La'el, perhaps. Bottom line is surely there were better comments the lawyer/agent could have made.
Right now, this appears to be much ado about nothing with regard to La'el.(Not much ado about nothing with regard to the murder.) All indications are that he's a standup guy and until someone proves otherwise, that's my opinion. Hopefully, the teams will think the same way.

Does anyone know if a timeline has been posted?
She was killed Friday at 10:30, correct? Has LC indicated where he was at that time? Seems like a no brainer. I'd think he would be shouting this from a mountain top. He could slip in the draft big time, costing himself a ton of money, if this hasn't been resolved by tomorrow.
