Fact is we paid a lot for the light show and ours looks like a pile of shite compared to bama.
You've said a whole lot in just those few words.
Why in the world would we want to emulate Bama in the first place when it comes to our stadium? Bryant-Denny is a decent enough stadium, but it doesn't have the aura or mystique of Death Valley. Bama needs the lights to set it apart, and the lights do that for them. There is no need for cheap gimmicks to be employed in a hallowed place like Tiger Stadium. It gives the appearance of LSU being followers rather than trend setters.
Won't be long before they start blaring "Sandstorm" through the PA now.

I realized I was officially old when I disliked Bama’s rave party shite after a TD
If we’re going to do it then it should be something unique. Don’t like after every touchdown to begin with but if they are going to then it needs to be delayed until after the player celebrations / congratulations. The broadcast and highlights can’t even cover that part of it anymore. Can barely see it. Definitely don’t need to be copying Bama. Hard to do with purple anyway.

It’s just sad we have multiple examples of how to do it in our own conference and we still fricked it up
Welcome to LSU. Everything is done on the cheap.

Maybe it will be a better environment at the Ole Miss or Bama games, but just feels like a cheap knock off trying to copy Bama/others
The main reason they spent that money is so the could advertise more on those bands

Yeah, that live DJ thing wasn't such a great idea either

Gotta face the facts that the environment is going to change so adding stuff to it isn’t a bad thing and for as much as I hate bama they know how to do the light show really good.

The fact that they just keep the ads full brightness on is sad. The white LEDs need to not even be something that comes on if they’re going to do it.

If there is a light show in Tiger Stadium and there is no one left to see it, did it really happen?
Posted on 9/29/24 at 7:07 pm to JimTiger72
Bama is definitely much better
Posted on 9/29/24 at 7:16 pm to TutHillTiger
Even Baltimore Ravens figured it out… their stadium is dark with purple lights during player intros
Posted on 9/29/24 at 7:18 pm to JimTiger72
I agree that it needs to go all light/ads off and then only dark purple.
Whoever said it’s like Christmas light during the day explained it perfectly.

I’m not at all a fan of the ribbons and LED lights, etc. I think it was all a colossal waste of money. However, the vast majority of folks do enjoy that sort of thing and as a result, I’m okay with it.

Sounds like low bid won the contract.
Posted on 9/29/24 at 8:43 pm to Swamp Angel
Why can’t they just turn off all the lights and have it glow purple?
I don’t understand it’s a very simple concept.
What are they missing to not see this?

Def low budget bulbs display. Can’t even get close to hard purple hue. Pathetic attempt to keep up.

I get it if you don't like it, but I think Bama does it right.

The problem is that they don't dim the other lights, or completely turn them off when the flashing lights are on. It looks bad because there is no contrast with darkness as the backdrop.

I am underwhelmed by the light show.
It is not purple enough.
They turn the white lights off then flicker them on and off again.
I WANT PURPLE.

It’s really a reflection of Scott Woodward that we spent money on this, tested it and knew it didn’t look anything like it should and probably know why it doesn’t since the rant does after seeing it once, and we still said frick it instead of fixing it. It’s just a laughable LSU moment we have seen others do it for years and we manage to not be able to do it correctly.
It is up there with let’s build a new baseball stadium but then haul old bleachers over. So it’s a multigenerational LSU admin issue.
