I'm saying if putting it down as historical data to trend where this team is now that a safe bet is to look at what happened at the past two weekends rather than what happened over a month ago
Well there is your problem. Using historical data to model a trend in relation to a baseball teams performance completely flaws your premise. When graphed it will look a lot more like a roller coaster than a supply and demand chart. And not just on average, but just about every single time.
So if we were to rely on historical data modeling (which would be silly to do with such a small sample size and the nature of sports), it would predict we will be better and worse in three weeks.

Look I’m not defending JJ but let me point something out that 75% of this board either doesn’t know or forgets. We lost three starting quality pitchers to Tommy John this year. In other words Floyd may have been our mid week starter……that’s bad luck and not on JJ and that’s season changing.

Remains to be seen with the BK hire, but JJ is underwhelming to this point. Kim is the only home run hire right now.
you cant be serious. LSU baseball was dogshit when he took over. In 1.5 years, he has had them at #1 for 95% of the season thus far. your expectations are grandiose. What's the weather like in fantasyland?

Easily to Omaha? We have a bad bullpen, are last in the conference in steals and sac bunts. We don’t manufacture runs and are very average athletically. There are numerous ways to win and we only win one way if Skenes isn’t pitching. Hitting a 3 run homer off of the score board will not happen every game. Ole baseball savant JJ and all of his professional at bats are gonna find this out the hard way.

If you beat #3 Arkansas(including a 10 run rule), #17 Kentucky(another 10 run game), and #23 Tennessee as well as split with #6 South Carolina, how could they not?
It’s not how you start. Those 57 wins by UT last year did not help them get to Omaha. It’s more important how you end the season, and right now LSU is 1-4 last 5games, and lost 2 of the last 3 series. LSU is also 2-2 its last 4 midweek games. LSU is trending in the wrong direction at the worse possible time.

Totally agree. Many people are looking at the over all record. The bottom line is it is how you are playing down the stretch. We are rapidly descending at the wrong time.

we can’t beat Miss State or Auburn 2/3 games how do some people think we’ll make it out of the Super Regional?
I think the other 39 wins proves they can make it to Omaha. The pitching staff has been the same all year and they have won big games against Ark, S. Carolina, Kentucky, Texas, etc.
This teams resume is as good as anybody. They had two bad weekends out of the bullpen. But, they can do enough to win in the postseason.
I'm jumping off yall's Debbie Downer pity wagon. You can only bitch so much about the teams big weakness before it gets so boring. They have enough other strengths to win 39 games so far and make a run if they pull out of their slump.

Do you know how all the other team’s pitching is doing?
I do. Do you? Without Skenes we are statistically the 2nd worst staff in the conference. The only team worse is MSU who just beat us.

I wonder what they thought when Kim was holding up the trophy at the end of the year after beating LSU. I wonder what people thought win Pokey was fired for poking her players.
I know what Woody thought when he saw Kim holding the Hall of Fame Certificate.
Hmmmm? I wonder if I could entice her to come home.

Kim Mulkey hit her stride around 12 years old and she’s been winning ever since. Not really fair to compare anyone to her.
