I am a graduate of LSU who happened to student teach at U. High in the seventies; it was a great school. I do not understand how the school could be in financial trouble, because it is funded by the state and by East Baton Parish Public Schools. If this is true, then there should be a major investigation of the school.
I wonder if you taught me in a class. UHS '77. Sorry to hear my alma mater is in dire straits, but their commitment to excellence in athletics over academics led me to stop contributing money a few years back. We won the 1974 state football championship without recruiting and paying players from other parts of the state.
ETA: UHS was way harder than Camp LSU.

They need to have a fund raiser. Start with the grand parents .

A fancy acronym for receiving state funding

And who are you?? This is my husband you are referring to. A man who sacrifices his time away from his own family to teach and mentor his band students. He loves his students and worked his butt off and truly enjoyed his job. This was/is very devastating for him and our family. Maybe think a little next time before you make such a nasty comment - especially behind a keyboard.

Too many blacks. Rob wants it like it was when he was there. He graduated in 2004.

This is definitely where I parked my car and it needs to be moved to the OT.
You will get some much better feedback there.
ETA: I just realized who your husband is and That man is an outstanding father and inspiration. Keep on grinding and y'all will persevere.
And don't let these fricktards bring y'all down.

Sorry I’m a year off but the goal is still the same less blacks, less focus on athletics, more academics.

its not public and its not magnet. it is just a private school wannabe
I despise everything about UHigh, but to act like it’s not magnet is dishonest. UHigh’s worst students would be in top at any of Baton Rouge’s gazillion “magnet” schools. As of 2022-3 UHigh was elite academically.
Their problem is obsession with football at all costs, lack of standards, and the school growing too big.

Big baby, who didnt even take 2 required semesters of Chemistry to get into LSU (at the time) got a pass. Your post is ignorant and misguided.

Call it what you want. Wait until all the jobs are posted at the end of the year and the demographic shift of the school in the next few years.
