No, but only you think people would see us ranked highly in women’s sports and be like “How? Don’t the voters know how corrupt their state legislature is!?!?”

That doesn't even make any sense. Go back and re-read the thread. You seemed to have misunderstood. When you're done, go ahead and travel around and see what LSU's reputation is. I have; it's not good. Maybe THAT'S what "yeah, that LSU" is referring to.

Then again, maybe not. But that wouldn't change the reputation.

So have I.

And everyone I've ever come in contact with has nothing but good things to say about LSU.

Maybe you just seem to connect better with bitter assholes who like trolling?

Do you think most people around the country who follow college athletics, even just moderately, believe that players are not paid to play at every single top athletics college in the country?

Journalists and opposing fans might take shots when other schools get busted (we do it too) but it’s a delusion and we all know it. So I don’t get why I should worry so much about these sorts of news media games. It’s called being a hypocrite.

And I seriously doubt that anyone who lives more than 300 miles from Baton Rouge and isn’t an avid follower of LSU really spends as much time thinking about LSU as you are implying.

What are you, a fricking English major? "Narrative"? Really?

You idiots bask in your bad boy reputation until someone actually shines a light on it, then y'all get all offended.

This is just what happens when you think higher education is communist indoctrination, and that cheating in sports to win championships is okay because 'everyone else does it.' You get a bad rep. Don't blame me, geaux Tigers!

I'm sorry if the word "narrative" is too big for you.

We're idiots...but "narrative" blows your mind?

I read the thread. I’m saying it’s definitely not that and it’s weird you think it is that.

Without graphic proof, they can at least maintain plausible deniability.

Can LSU fans say the same?

I don't think you should. But you might want to at least be aware of the reputation when out of state writers say things like, "Yeah, that LSU..." That way, you won't have to ask on a message board when you see it.

Quick, name a college women's gymnastics program that has made national headline news lately...

It doesn't take much time at all to build a reputation. A coach admitting to offering money to a recruit, a former player seen handing out cash to current players... No other team has these things. And as long as LSU stays in the national media with championships, stories of misconduct, "damn strong offers", and going out and taking Notre Dame's winningest coach away from them by throwing an obscene amount of money at him, as well as hiring the best active women's basketball coach in the same manner, people are going to get tired of hearing about LSU and what all they're willing to do to win.

You think college football fans around the country aren't familiar with LSU?

...college baseball fans?

...men's basketball fans?

...women's gymnastics fans?

...women's basketball fans?

College sports fans all over the country have seen LSU in the national news for one reason or another in recent years. Not all of it has been good news.

It's not. It's just that using it that way makes you look like some kind of English major/progressive liberal.

I mean, maybe you are. If so, I apologize.

You're absolutely right, my mere saying it does NOT necessarily make me right. But it doesn't necessarily make me wrong either.

Maybe he was just referring to the football/baseball power LSU. We haven’t been known for women’s basketball for quite some some time, but that poor idiot better write it down: KM is just warming up! Wait until she has all the players that she wants that aren’t even here yet!??

Okay, I didn't see anything on that dude's Twitter that mentioned LSU WBB's schedule, but I did see this lame response post:

That seems to indicate that it's not about LSU's schedule, but more ab out Mulkey at LSU.

He's right to be concerned, LSU with Mulkey is a threat to the Husky women.

He just hates Kim Mulkey because she said masks are stupid and she didn’t answer a question about Brittany Griner the way he wanted her to.

Except nobody knows about all that shite, they just know LSU is a dirty sellout.

Big time WBB followers know about both of those things, especially the Griner stuff.

Mulkey is hated by a lot of fanbases because she wins a lot and has an abrasive, in your face style that many associate with being "MAGA" for some reason.

This had nothing to do with LSU and everything to do with Mulkey.

He shouldn’t be concerned as a beat writer. That’s what fans are for.

I'll allow it. THAT LSU will go further than UConn in the tournament for the first time in 16 years.
