Pretty sure he'll be ready way in advance of the season.

If you think LSU is going to sign a dude that will probably put the baseball programs profits into 6 years of losses for 1 guy. keep dreaming.

Does Verlander or Aaron Judge have any eligibility left? Asking for a coach friend.

Old Dominion and Fresno State.
Where would they have finished their college careers with the portal?

If Johnson was here, LSU. Lol but that is a legit question though.

Yeah, man, you, Beavis and Butthead! College is kids’ stuff. They are playing college as a path to the Show.

There is a high probability that at least one of our pitching transfers will not make it to campus due to where they are drafted. So this is insurance.

Transfer Tracker. Waldrep struck out 140 and walked 33 in 90 innings of work for #USM this past season. Tough loss for the Golden Eagles.

Me: “911, I was told to call for medical assistance if an erection lasts more than 4 hours”
Operator: “When did you take the medication?”
Me: “I didn’t take any damn medication. Coach Johnson got another one!!!”
Operator: “Stop logging into Tigerdroppings until the erection subsides.”
Me: “Fuq you…Geaux Tigahs!!!”

I sort of expected this (NOT this pitcher or anyone else in specific; I don't know who is out there)...
Just think about it, objectively. NIL is now legal.
Name another university, ANY school, that cares as much about baseball as LSU does. And we're talking fan base, boosters, etc. If there is, it's a short list. And I'm not just talking about crowd at the game, because for most programs, at best it's just something to get excited about during the football/basketball offseason.
Now from that list (if you can find another school), find the ones that have SEC money and resources.
We all notice that the other SEC schools "care" about baseball, but that's in comparison to the rest of the NCAA; they see it as a nice 3rd or 4th sport. LSU treats baseball as co-equal to men's basketball.

He's already throwing. If he continues to progress, he'll get innings in the fall and extend in the spring. Barring any setbacks, he'll be ready for opening day.

I had this injury as a sophomore in high school. Took time off twice and came back and hurt it again. It wasn’t until then that it was properly diagnosed, and I had to shut everything down and wear a brace for about 6 months. Luckily, I never had any issues after that, and that was 25 years ago. I probably was taking way more combined non-game reps (ground balls, cage cuts, and pen pitches) than he was/is in a body less built for all the stress (16 vs. 18/19), and there’s no question he has better doctors, trainers, PTs, etc…and was likely diagnosed earlier, all that.
However, I remember how bad that shite hurt at times, and I didn’t have several million dollars at stake. I am not wishing this on him and hate to even put it in the ether, but considering his money year isn’t until ‘24 and how conservative the trend is currently to handle pitchers, I think there’s a much better than 0 chance he doesn’t pitch for us in ‘23. Not saying it’s 75, 50, 25, or even 10–what I’m saying is I hope we land the Southern Miss guy, too.
