#23 Pistol Pete over Shaq in basketball 100 times out of 100. Maravich is the greatest college basketball player of all-time. He was a great professional basketball player as well despite the knee injury. Shaq was a better
Professional basketball player surrounded by better players and the NBA game was more suited to his strengths as opposed to college. Shaq never did master the art of free throw shooting. He should have tried Rick Barry’s approach…..

I know he has no idea who Bob Pettit is, and I know the old white guy different era thing hurts him and I get it.

But if you read what Wilt and Bill Russell's thoughts of Bob Petit and they competed against him at the highest level, I think you get a better appreciation of how great he was.

Back when Boston won 8 of 9 titles with Russell as their bell cow, Petit's St. Louis Hawks were the only team to beat them and Petit was the reason.

Any top 5 LSU list that doesn’t include Maravich loses all credibility.

100% agree with Chad Jones being on the list. Not just for the championship in 2 sports, but for the way he rehabbed from a horrific injury and continued to play professionally. He’s incredible.

He gives his reasons on the video. What are everyone's thoughts on his list?

Maybe some recency bias but I like the list. We've been blessed to see a lot of great players play for LSU. Peterson was a great player and a good mentor to Mathieu. He had Deon Sanders level talent.

Sorry, but Chad Jones a top5 LSU athlete all time? Not even close! Who in their right mind would put Jones over PM?

It's not top 5 greatest players, it's top 5 athletes

Chad Jones absolutely deserves to be in the conversation. He had freakish speed and quickness for his size as a safety and also instantly became a leading relief pitcher for the best baseball team in the country after not pitching since high school. If that's not a world class show of athleticism I don't know what is
