Here’s to hoping he keeps his weight down and has a speedy recovery during the summer.

Yeah, he's going to have to watch his weight if he's going to be sedentary while recovering this summer. Hope he doesn't balloon back up to 400.

Ankle surgery for a big man that already has weight issues = not good

At least he won't get a worse injury in practice while he recovers from the surgery.

Shelvin is good. We need him if we want to compete with the good teams.

Not sure what the diagnosis was. Hopefully it was more of a functional surgery that gets performed on athletes to regain strength and mobility rather than a serious injury, but, I don’t know.

Why isnt this kid on some sort of kale and protein regimen?

Seriously. LSU has him on campus and has control over his meals.

He should be in shape by now.

If he can’t lose weight practicing I have a hard time believing he will lose weight laid up with an ankle injury.

How so? We’ve heard nothing but weight issues for over a year now. And now an ankle injury?

All you have to do is watch the spring game. He's a stud talent, guys that big aren't supposed to be that explosive off the ball.

I’m pretty sure he was 400+ when he arrived on campus. You don’t lose 100 pounds (healthily) in that short a period.

He was down to 325 at one point.

Why are all of you so worried about a nose tackle’s weight?? He should be 330+. You clowns want some skinny nose tackle that will get swallowed by the guard and center?

He was 380 when he signed. He’s 358 now. Ed wants him at 335.
LINK

If he just had ankle surgery, he won’t be close to 335 anytime soon.

And people are saying sospher isn't a must get on the dline. Everyone is already guaranteed our Dline will be top 5 in the country and they really haven't proved anything yet.

Yep, largely unproven outside of Lawrence and Logan

Did you not listen two of our former tigers def lineman that are now working for major networks and covered the spring game? Both claimed that we now have one of the top 3 def lines in the SEC right there with Alabama and Georgia. I think those two guys know a hell of a lot more than you!

He's lost a ton of weight.

And he's still nimble as frick at his weight. He looked like Vince fricking Wilfork in the Spring Game.
