I don't think that cat watched the game. Or looked at highlights, or even a box score/stats. I think he saw one play on offense where we didn't get the yard, then saw our prevent defense get beat.

Yeah and yet somehow it still occasionally surprises me when I read something so far from being an accurate description. I really don't know how it can be surprising anymore.

Yet threads are started here about former Tigers in the NFL. Quiet down

I would've liked to see RS on the field at the bowl game. Who knows what would happen in all honesty.

Let's move on though, no need to cry about spilled milk.

MOST college football teams are realizing in order to be sucessfull on ofense you need these type of players and schemes.

Nick Saban says that he disagrees with this statement.

Nick Saban doesn't coach most teams.

Yeah, but can you name one other team that has been more successful lately? I'll hang up and listen.

In fact, name the last National Champion to have one of those types of players. Now I will really hang up and listen.

If you go back and read my response (and pull the gerbil out of your arse) you will realize that I am questioning the validity of bringing Nick Saban into the conversation... In other words, agreeing with you. Go spritz your douchness elsewhere.

Florida in 2008 had a Percy Harvin type player.

With Cam coming in maybe we will be less predictable

Unfortunately predictability was one of the issues with Cam when he was cut loose. However I agree it has to be an improvement. I'm just concerned that his predictability + Miles as offensive overseer (and friend) doesn't necessarily bode well long term. However, if he helps our QB play improve that is still worth it.

Yep so 1 out of the last 5 National Champions. This was just to point out that not every team needs that type of player on offense to be succesful. This guy clearly wants that type of player so we can have an offense like Oregon's.

Gotta put it on Ware then. I could pick up a yard running into a pile of dust. #idiot

I have heard rumors that would get wacked from here so I won't post them. I also have no way of knowing if they are true.

My apologies to the OP because I am not in the know. But......
If it was indeed a "personal issue" why wont anyone say what it was? I mean come on u leave your team but no one says a word about it? This should be thought of as honorable to give up your senior season for a bigger cause.
Many players have major family or personal issues throughout a season but u rarely see someone leave a team in his sr season after starting for 2-3 yrs previously.

Im sorry Im not sold on the personal issue and until someone tells me what it was; Im thinking he quit the team.

Russell Shepard couldnt hold Percy Harvin's jock strap. RU kidding!
What could Russell Shepard do better than everyone else on the team.
Lets see
Kick returner NO
Pass catcher No
Route runner No
Running inside the tackles No
Running outside the tackles- NO
QB No Arm NO
Special teams- Good but not the best
Quickness-Speed - NO he got caught from behind by a Bama safety? has Harvin ever been caught from behind at any level? including the NFL?
This guy took some of the hardest hits ever; he just didnt have it, Period.
I will say he hoped right up and didnt fumble on those collisions, so hes a tough kid, I will give him that.
If Les Miles wouldve given the ball to Shepard on 4th and 1 against the Gumps that wouldve been a very poor coaching decision.
Theres no doubt that Ware was a much better choice under the same circmstances. Ware is a real RB.

another reason why Les Miles is 1000x the man than 99% of our fan base. Have you heard even 1 player bad mouth Alex Hurst? That should tell you all you need to know about him "quitting" on his teammates.

Seems to me that quitting would be a huge reason for all the secrecy. Miles is a stand up guy and it is remarkable that nothing has leaked out about this.

Says alot about the staff and Mr. Miles either way.

I think the conversation was just between Miles Stud and Hurst. Im not sure that any of the players know any more than we do.
If the entire team truly knows the real reason and none of them spoke about this is a tribute to Miles and the LSU culture that he has assembled here.

Oh just that quitting kinda sucks is why it freakin matters! Maybe cost us a title and a bowl victory thats all. And u are correct it is not anyone's business and thats how LSU and Hurst have went about it.

Im of the belief the personal issue was "u gonna lose your job starting next week to Alexander and he just couldnt handle it. Not sure i couldve handled it either but i wouldnt have quit the team.
