Okay this #18 shite is getting out of hand. It was kinda cool for a while but now it's getting stale. Can we please just make #7 the only number that gets passed down like this?

I will alert the football opps folks. I’m sure they had no idea you were bored with it. I would imagine they will get this resolved for you in short order. Please hang on while they do. Thanks for your patience.

Probably not who the fans would have picked to wear #18, but the fans don't know all the inside stuff that goes on with the players! So be it... Geaux Tigers!

All the number 18 has ever been is a unique way of doing the captains patch. I love it.

This outrage is insane. The fans don’t see all the work that these players do, and don’t see what happens in the locker room. What if they are indeed the hardest working, the most natural leaders, and the best ambassadors for this team? What if the player actually agree with it? Why don’t we simply be happy for both guys?

Exactly.

#7 is for the fans but #18 is special. That number and only that number is for the team

No real complaints, but I'm not sure I like having 2 guys given the number. I don't dislike it, but I feel it does water it down some. I guess we have to prepare for 2 guys wearing #7 in the future, too. If 2 guys deserve #7 or #18, hold out until one of them really separates. I don't think any rules prohibit a number change once the season starts, but I could be wrong.

Congrats to K'Lavon and Cush! Make us proud, boys!

Wow. Surprised but well deserved. Looking forward to 18s stomping the competition.

If I had a say in it, I would give Grant number 18 and give Joe number 7 .

Obviously I don't have a say, but just think of what that says to the country, the ones that understand what numbers 7 and 18 mean. That says ,for once, that we have a straight up play making dawg at qb for the first time in a while.

Giving number 18 to grant says, that despite him being our best player and one of the most gifted, he's a hard worker and team leader.

Obviously, we know grant is all of these things, because if he wasn't, then he's not getting invited by coach o to come to media days.

Just a thought I had.

What's not to like about that?

We've never had a qb wear number 7,burrows worthy of it based on his expected progression this season and the end of last season.

Grants a better overall player then Joe, I know that. Just something different and 18 would fit him for sure.

I'm not sure if Joe would want number 18 ,qbs are weird about there number. He may not want to change it period

#18 isn’t about the rest of of the country though. It isn’t, or at least shouldn’t, used to signify anything to the rest of the world.

It is an internal designation for the guys who do everything the right way and make people proud of their team because that guy is on it.

It is silly to critique who gets the number 18 because that isn’t for us. If it goes to a walk on kicker then that’s fine because that number isn’t about wins or losses or fan favorites. It’s a team number and we’re not on the team. We don’t have to understand it. That’s between them.

I guess you're right, traditions shouldn't go more than a decade or so....they get stale after that.

After #JeauxCool throws 30 TDs, 9’s gonna become the most coveted number on the team

I'm not so sure they didn't offer Joe 18 anyway.

He could have decided to give it to cush..

I guess this tells us kc has been putting in work ,big time, to get back this year.

Could be the year we get back to that Mingo/montgomery pass rush
