Agree, but it works both ways. I hate NIL and the portal, but u either adapt or get left behind.

For anyone that is a fan of LSU to knock the transfer portal is ridiculous. Jayden Daniels led LSU to the SEC Championship Game and a win over Alabama. Angel Reese led LSU to a National Championship. Paul Skenes is the best pitcher on the #1 team in the country. We have probably benefited more than any other fanbase in the country.

Benefiting from a system you don’t agree with does not preclude you from disagreeing fundamentally with the system

See Federal taxes as a practical example

Oh, so you're just of the belief that college kids should be forced to exist in the way we find most entertaining rather than getting to live their own lives and make their own decisions? See, I thought it was sour grapes that made people not like the portal, not just being assholes. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

I like the rule the way they have it now. NIL makes it’s shady but sometimes the coaches that recruit you leave and you don’t get a fair shake. For those mentioning Burrow, he graduated from OSU without a fair shake before going to LSU. It’s pretty weird in the past a program can choose to take your scholarship away and you have to go to a smaller school or sit out

“Sat behind” is a little disingenuous, he played a ton as a freshman and was an impact player.

I generally agree with overall point though

Same here.

I would have thought that would make quitting on them worse.
Ehh, look at JD5 for example, he wouldn't have had NFL 1st round draft potential or be in the Heisman convo if he had stayed at Arizona State. Arizona State doesn't have the athletes or the exposure. It is a decision that could make JD5 millions of dollars. Sometimes ''sticking it out with your team,'' isn't the right choice.

Joey B did not come through the Transfer Portal. He came the somewhat more traditional way of Grad Transfer.

"More traditional"

Did you start watching CFB in 2011? The grad transfer rules are new in terms of CFB history, bubba. There is nothing "traditional" about it.

In general I agree that the portal is creating mentally softer athletes.. personally I’d like the rule to change that you must be on campus for 2 years before being allowed a free transfer. Everyone at that point will have a better understanding of where a player is on the team.

We have rules and laws for reasons. You don’t get to always just do what you want. Because Nobody is forcing anyone to play college athletics

If you feel u should be playing as the better athlete I hv no problems with it. My own son did and it was the best decision. Athletes want to start and play it’s in their DNA . However sometimes for some athletes waiting that extra year really helps.

I despise the transfer portal. They've opened up a can of worms with the tampering.

They are college kids and you think they should be forced to perform for your entertainment. They shouldn't get to go to school where they want to and play sports where they want to. Should their freedoms should be restricted so you can watch them play ball the way you want? Of course not.
