What can be done to turn the team around this year? I’m not looking for the fire PM bull crap. I’m looking for serious answers from some of the actual knowledgeable posters I know they are few and far between

Not giving up on players immediately for one (Arnold and Sanford). Better and more consistent bullpen management. Not calling 20 of 22 pitches as fastballs would also help imho.

Another pandemic shutdown since that worked pretty well at stopping a bad baseball season last year.

Don’t take out Milazzo.

Stick with either Drost or Sanford in CF until Gio comes back.

Better coaching in general.

A lot of what Ell said, but just general attitude and body language needs to be improved by PM especially. You don’t think the team sees that and feeds off of it?

Work more counts, which has been a consistent issue for PM coached teams for the past few seasons.

I could go on....

I think we may just have to hope that these kids learn how to win. We were so close to winning the our first series on the road, but just didn't make the plays we needed to make in crunch time. We definitely have to stop giving so many free passes.

See how many guys batting under .200 you get into the starting lineup. At out at least one of them in the 5 hole.

I really would have liked to have seen Paul get ejected this weekend. He had ample opportunity.

Pitching staff needs to clean up the walks. Jaden Hill needs better control of his pitches. Still too many errors on defense. Need more competitive bats at the plate and putting more pressure on the pitcher consistently inning wise. Too many easy innings for the opposing pitcher.

I think all of this will get better with more experience. The talent is there but they are young.

Pitch calling cost game 2. This team has been so close yet so far away at the same time

It’s not all coaching. Players have to take accountability too. Agree on body language

Put your best 8 on the field, let them settle in. Create a better lineup that can produce more runs, not your best hitter leading off. And figure out the trash bullpen that you created. Quit tinkering with shite, let these kids get comfortable.

Baseball is about pitching, defense, and timely hitting.

Pitching - we have the starters, but beyond that this bullpen is as shaky as I can remember an LSU bullpen being. We can’t hold leads at all.

Defense - leaves a lot to be desired at multiple positions.

Timely hitting - lol. Well for starters, our guys have no approach at the plate. Swinging at 2-0 sliders in the dirt. Can’t lay off high heat in any count. It really seems like they aren’t coached at all on the psychology of hitting. We’re not good at all at making productive outs when the opportunity presents itself.

Maybe getting their brains beat in by top competition for the next 5 weeks will help them grow up fast. More likely this team might not even make a regional.

Crews and Morgan both look more comfortable batting 1-2 respectively (unfortunately)

Limiting walks definitely would help. And we have way to many bad ABs. We take way to many swings at awful pitches

Our pitchers are having bad body language too. A lot of frustration going on.

After the balk call, his pussy arse should’ve gotten ejected. I was screaming for it.

Pitching has to figure something out. Whether it is the pitch calling or the pitchers missing spots, something has to change. We give up way too many walks and hits with 2 strike counts.

Agree. It was a horrible call given the situation in the game and Paul should have said some unspeakable things to him.

Yep I agree on that one. As I said in the gamethread, at that point enough was enough with that crew. They were terrible both ways all weekend.
