The majority of Tulane students are from out of state and have never considered LSU a big rivalry.
the majority of the students act like they aren't even aware that LSU exists, which makes all of the vitriol towards tulane on this site humorous to me

There is some intense hatred for LSU on that board. Wow.

I was at that game, my first LSU-TU game since graduating from LSU in Dec 1972. The TU fans were very obnoxious about the win.
And the little TU sh*ts comment about the "only LSU bumper stickers uptown were on pool cleaners and gardeners" is so typical of the attitude of the N.O. Tulane fan. What he didn't realize was that the LSU Alumni had an outpost on the most exclusive street in Uptown New Orleans, Audubon Place - where the Tulane president resides. Alumni meetings were held at that home from which two of the sons had been LSU Cheerleaders while I weas in B.R.
What they aren't saying is that the win was one of only four that TU has over LSU in the last 58 years (1949 to 2008) - my lifetime plus one year. Tulane quit the SEC in 1962 because they weren't competitive. They have only rarely been competitive since.
Tulane fans have to live in the past because they haven't got anything in the present or even the recent past to cheer about.

the hatred for LSU is 1000000000x worse on the yogw site than it is here for Tulane. theyre obsessed with us over there.
there are virtually no students on that site. those guys are all pretty old and were tulane students back when an actual rivalry existed. the current students don't care, trust me

do you really think LSU students care?...i promise you TU people care more about the game than we do. its just another rent-a-win and a reason to watch football and get drunk.

i wasn't speaking about football specifically, but yes i know that LSU students care more about the game. i don't think you understand how little the tulane student body cares about the football program. if you ask a random student on a friday who the team is playing on saturday they won't know. i'm not saying it's a good thing, i actually think it's kind of sad and a big part of the reason TU football sucks.

The contempt for LSU is laughable..i go to the sight whenever I need a good laugh. Every post is "LSU cheats, that's how they win", "LSU never graduates its players" "LSu is nothing but a bunch of inbred rednecks spittin' tobacco & paying players".
Question? If LSU is so beneath the pure, holier than thou **** at Toolame, if LSU isn't worth mentioning or speaking...why does every other post on yogwf contain the letters LSU?
Toolame is nothing but a bunch of whining, jealous children who think a win against LSU 35 years ago is a glorious achievement.

It's a myth. They never did. Maybe uptown. That's it.

In sum, already been addressed. We don't dwell on any one game and try to hold onto it dearly, as if to remember happier times. We've had an abundance of happy times, unlike Tulane.
