I don't think we should play them home and homes, but p(l)aying them every now and then like we play ulm, tech, ull, etc. seems OK. I don't really like the idea that we are playing D II schools instead of them - won't that hurt in BCS ratings? KC.

Dunno why you think that is funny....as you seem to be someone who buys rankings, LSU is a higher ranked school than Tulane in:
Biological Sciences
Chemistry
Computer Sciences
Earth Sciences
Mathematics
Physics
And these are all general categories, but just specific majors (and ALL of the general science categories US News and World reports tracks). And most of them are in the top 75 range.
On top of that LSU, ranks higher in chemical engineering, petroleum engineering, and mechanical engineering.
And this is the point where I stopped counting...because by now I think the trend is kinda obvious. Like I've and many others have said before, Tulane is only really good if you are going for a liberal arts degree. It is a joke for the sciences. I know of multiple out of state science professors that interviewed at Tulane as their first choice with LSU as a "while I am here" deal and they ended up preferring LSU because of how laughable Tulane's science support facilities are. One in particular compared the feel of his department at LSU as one with Cal-Berkeley, just much smaller.

I'm wondering what part of "mutual" they don't understand.

False. Finance program is top notch and I've had many classmates work on Wall Street.

Perhaps.
In my mind it is Science and then everything else/liberal arts.

Just... think about it.

Its amazing how angry these Tulane fans are. If you havent read the thread on their boards please do. Its absolutely hilarious. I don't understand how one can get so angry about a scheduling issue. I feel bad for those people. They must lead horribly psychotic lives to allow themselves to get so worked up.

Somebody should contact the Financial Times, the WSJ, and all of the i-banks and let them know that the finance and other business programs aren't "really good". Same thing goes for someone notifying Vandy and Hopkins. They may decide to cancel the cooperative engineering programs they have going with TU. They may also be shocked to find out that their mechanical engineering program is supposedly < LSU's.
You are one of the guys that kept insistently comparing LSU to Harvard on here, aren't you?

Tulane's problem isn't LSU. Tulane's problem is apathy among its fan base and its athletic department
Very well put. Why not apply for the Ivy league... since they've been called the Harvard of the south before and probably really believe that.

Southeastern is the only ivy league of the south in Louisiana. And we're the Brown of the south.

Read my later post.

Got anything more than that? I don't just take a cooperative engineering program as meaning anything. I just offered a standard that I thought you would accept. But I guess because it doesn't fit in your LSU bashing it is invalid.
I love how you sidestep the point I was trying to make though and pretend like what you said was everything though.

No.
I don't insistently compare the two.
I have said in the past and stand by that a Harvard education doesn't inherently mean that you are better educated than anyone else though.

What point? That you only care about sciences and write off every other part of a university? Tulane either doesn't or didn't even have all of those engineering fields that you listed. I'm almost positive they don't have petro. So what exactly was your point? LSU is better at sciences and significantly worst at most other fields? If so then we agree

Past tense brah, referencing one occasion. You were one of the main players in the thread on here and on the OT trying to justify a Harvard/LSU comparison.

Someone who goes to Southeastern which is a good school has no standing on ripping on the academics of LSU and comparing Tulane to LSU.
Get a degree from Tulane and then maybe you can try to talk on how much better Tulane is then LSU, but honestly let the alumni and faculty of Tulane and LSU debate this. You'd be better off debating USL or ULM or La Tech.

Just like you'd be better off debating Alabama or Arkansas

You mean a pair of SEC schools that are easier to get into compared to LSU?
