Agreed

Look, Tubbs didn't deserve to go, but the people involved in paying for him didn't want him there.
Was this year bad, yes
Were they on an offensive decline, yes
Should he been given AT LEAST 1 more year to work itself out yes
But when you see people like Meyer come in and kick some arse immediately and Saban turn Bama around in a season AND the fact that's your rival ... everyone thinks they can find that instant success, it's not exactly how it works though, but ADs and boosters are all what have you done for me lately, and for Tubbs, that wasn't much ...

You're missing the point rb. The Auburn move was based SOLELY on feelings, not money. The powers that be hated Tubs and wanted him gone since 03. They were looking for any excuse to get rid of him and this year was it. This was not a decision based on $$$.

it's getting downright volatile in the SEC regarding coaching security. i actually don't think it is just in the SEC. it can be seen all over the country.

no he is right, ultimately it is the $ that do the talking. Having said that, there IMO is much truth to what you said about the AU situation. There is a very slim chance that they can replace Tubs with a better coach. It is about the money, they just made a fuked up money decision, and probably a lot of it was because of, as you stated, their emotions.

I just don't see it man. The program has never been stronger. What can they hope to gain?

pressure on Miles is a good thing....he needs it.
He seems to perform better when there is pressure on him, and it's not like he wasn't in charge of the team....whatever happens is still HIS fault (except the hurricanes....remember those?).
Tubby brought this shite on himself....ask Ole Miss fans. They are probably getting a kick out of it. Now if Tubby went to Miss State, that would be interesting.
I'd love to hear Jimbo Fisher's take on the Tubby situation, and Muschamps.

TT recruiting problem is directly from having to deal with N. Saban. Now if Miles who can pick up good recruits out of La./Tx has another down year, and the recruiting class goes down, you can bet that you guys are going to be calling for Miles' head and no one could blame you. All TT has to do next year is to take time off, and wait till Miles screws up, gets fired and wait for the call to come for an interview. He's a good coach, a good recruiter and at least he wouldn't call us Ar-Kansas.

There is extreme pressure on all high paid college coaches. Saban as well. If Saban had gone 7-5 this year which could have happened with a key injury or two what would the bammers have been saying about their $4 mil man? High priced coaches need to win big every couple of years and maintain competitivness every year. Miles probably has two more 7-5 seasons before they would think about firing him. Hopefully we see a rebound before then. We don't need to be firing coaches, we need consistancy it will be rewarded over time if we have the right man. I think we do.

You just better worry about the UAT head coaching job when Notre Dame finally has enough of Chubby Charlie.
