It wasn't much solace, but Blakeney said scaring the LSU fans out of the stands was satisfying.

"I guarantee if there was 90,000 when we started, there was 40,000 when it was over," he said. "I don't know if Alabama or Auburn fans would thin out like that, but those suckers left. You could see more chairs than folks at the end."

bullshite. Not that I would have left, I've never left a game early, but I guaran-fricking-tee that if UA or AU were losing by 30 to Troy those stadiums would be empty.

Give me a fricking break.

And many will post on here how cold it was and how it's their right to leave for their house that the spent more money on than tickets.

It was really cold. It also hasnt been cold, so it made it that much worse. I really wanted to leave but I just happened not to

Also, he's being very generous, because there is no way in hell there were 40,000 in the stadium when the clock read 00:00.

I guess I was the only one that has the ability to find out what the weather was.

I'm not trying to tell anyone they can't leave early. It's just that if you're there to support LSU stay if not don't go. Everyone has a reason why they left and that's all good. It's just an excuse nothing more nothing less.

Not just Bama or AU but ANY stadium would empty. That's just a fact. I stuck around the game thread which turned into the rally thread for the entire game since it was the only way I could keep up with it (ESPN.com and the like weren't as quick with the updates as TD) but that's just me. I'm not goning to chastize someone for leaving the game or turning the TV off. I really don't care what anyone else does. Just b/c I hung around tracking the entire 60 minutes doesn't make me a better fan than the next guy.

To be fair, the football team only showed up for half the game. Tough to blame fans for doing the same. Just different halves.

folks....
you keep trying to input YOUR feelings and likes. etc into this.
It is not about YOU.

The people that go to the game go for various reason, but MOST of all is to support the TIGERS and ENTERTAINMENT.

Now, let's have reality here,
The team played for about 1 qtr and a third.
The weather was cold.

At some point, the ENTERTAINMENT value was not there and supporting the Tigers I am sure was hard for some who may love the Tigers but whose heart was being broken by the Tigers themselves.

Judging others to YOUR standard comes easy to young people, as if your way was the only way.
YOU have the right to do as you wish, so do others.

I have never left early, but I can see why others might.
Do you have babysitters you are paying for?
Do you have children there who are bored?
etc.

It is their money, it is their choice.
Please quit trying to push your way onto others.

...it does not make you a better or bigger fan.

That's exactly what staying does... bigger better fan stays. Actions speak louder than words. If you leave you're showing how little of a fan you are. Not one game but your body of work.

I'm not singling anyone out but if the shoe fits put it on and leave early.

So now LSU fans are "suckers" instead of "corndogs"?

What do you mean? So if it's a hardship to get there then don't go. Why go then spend time trying to rationalize why you left early.

How am I arrogant? Supporting my team is the best way to be a fan. I don't understand why you're upset.

like an earlier poster said, you can't judge others by your standards... If thats how you feel then you'd better NEVER leave an LSU game. I don't care what the situation is....

I love LSU, have since the early 80s, but i do have things that are a little more important to me.. And if i'm paying a babysitter $15-$20 buck an hour and the game is horrible, i may leave. I would leave for a bad movie... it doesn't mean i don't love and support LSU....

Like i said, each person has their own feelings on this, and you're not wrong for feeling that way for you, but don't hold others to it, or belittle them by saying that they are not "real" fans...

BTW I stayed... I won't say i didn't think about leaving, I just never have left early, and i happened not to leave for this one..

Tim, he said staying doesn't make people better fans and I say it does. I don't give a shite what you do. I also said "your body of work". Dude you can't tell me you didn't plan to pay the sitter for the full night.

I'm not trying to force anything, I'm pretty sure if you always stay, you're a better fan of those who always leave early. What else could it mean. I'm sorry if I made someone feel guilty for leaving early.
