Troubling words from Jefferson?

Jefferson said he didn't hear the boos and that he wasn't frustrated by his poor play "I'm not frustrated; we're 4-0," he said. "What do I have to be frustrated about. "I really didn't (hear the boos). I have thick skin. I'm not worried about what any critics say. I'm not worried about what any fans say. I'm not worried about what any media guys say. We're 4-0. That is our main goal, to go undefeated."
I think these comments are a bit troubling. He's defensive (as probably many young men would be in his position) but he hasn't been able so far to use that criticism or poor performances constructively. Not frustrated?!! His performance has deteriorated this year, not improved. His 2 int's last night were critical to keeping West Virginia in this game.

Your a fricking schmuck.
This is the mentality that he must have to have any hope in fighting through the adversity that he is dealing with...which is simple, trying to get better despite the enourmous amount of pressure he is under. What do you expect him to say?

and, even worse than this is the fact that Miles doesn't see the problem either...even more of a shame!

please provide an example of what he should say

I wouldn't be troubled if I thought what he said was true. I think the booing did get to him last night. The guy is having a hard enough time playing well on his own, our fanbase sure isn't helping.
That said, I don't have a problem with him saying that. He knows he isn't pulling his weight, and I think he is working as hard as he can to get better.

dude should be a team player and suggest to LM that JL needs a shot.

This. He knows people were booing him.

Whats he supposed to do, actually cry about it?
Posted on 9/26/10 at 2:26 pm to LSU NO Tigah
Why can't he just make us feel better and at least just say he's working as hard as he can to make this team better.

Are you kidding? He watches tape. We even saw him chastise himself on the sideline last night for missing a wide open WR. He just doesn't feel the need to react to the boos of fans. JL should be taking snaps, but I see no reason to expect JJ to say, "Those boos are right, I suck."

Exactly. What's he supposed to say?

but, really. He should have at least said he played poorly, and he is going to work on that. C'mon guys! I don't care if he heard the boos are not, and really don't care if he is lying about that...but, he at the very least needed to admit that he was unhappy with the way he played.

I understand why our loyal fans would be unhappy with our performance as an offense this year, and as our quarterback, I will go back to practice this week and work as hard as I can to make this team better, and our improvement has to start with me.
How about that?

His body english and facial expressions spoke volumes differently on the field, beginning with the on-target pass that went right thru TT's hands. I'm over it, it is what it is and will not change this season. I feel for him, but it's like he is filling in for Sisyphus.

I find his play much more troubling than his words.
