If we play Bama again, I wonder if we'd install a triple option package. Georgia Southern gashed Bama with it, and I think a Jefferson, Hilliard/Ware and Ford/Blue package would be much more effective.

As a rule of thumb, 3-4 defences tend to struggle with this type of offence since they are build to stop pro sytle offenses. Lord knows we have better horses than Ga Southern.

We'd have more than enough time to install it too. Think about the surpise Bama would have if we started running the triple option in the second half of the game.

Imagine JJ could could scan the field and throw an accurate pass from the pocket.

Won't work as well. They have 4 weeks to prepare. You better believe they will spend a large portion of it on option principals and player responsibilities

That option crap is not going to save us in a rematch.

AL's defense will crush our running game with an extra month to prepare.

JJ and his occasional run will not save the day this time.

We better have some new wrinkles on offense in a rematch.

Once again the Rant finds a coach that should be added to the Tiger payroll. Please call Les to discuss and let us know what he says.

I don't want JJ running the triple option. There will be fumbles.

Exactly. You can bet your arse that Saban will have them prepared to defend the triple option. Lsu's best shot will be to get Ford to the outside and make Bama's big linebackers running side to side.

I could see this. Maybe some elements of a triple option but I doubt they put too much stock in it. I am looking out for some much more creative option play though.

It's been shown to work quite effectively against them.

The triple option offense isnt something you just learn how to do effectively in a month. Hell we couldve started practicing it in the spring and still not be good at it.

Doubt that Bama will be preparing for the triple option. LSU runs read option and speed option ... triple option with Hilliard/Ware as the fullback could catch Bama off guard.

This is maybe the most absurd thing I've ever read. If we couldn't teach JJ Crowton's system I seriously doubt Les and Co. would try to spring an entirely new system on our boys with a month to go. We've won games by playing to our skills; to change that know would be stupid.

LSU has one of the best triple option QBs I've ever seen. He's ran it for 6 years. If Les really did want to run the triple option, Paul Turner would be superior to anyone on LSU's roster to be the QB.

The scout team did a pretty good job with it when preparing for GA tech. I think Gore did a nice job in it.

See Ball - run to short side.

See Ball - throw to right side but not at feet of receiver.

No new wrinkles on offense with this QB.

you can't just change blocking schemes like that. It's nothing for the backs.

Why on Earth would he waste time doing that? Will he also have them prepared for the run and shoot and the single-wing? We're not going to spring an entirely new system on them.

He will have them prepared to kick Jefferson's arse every time he attempts to drop back and pass as well as each option play we run.

I can't figure out why LSU hasn't already used the triple option. Seems like a natural fit.
