this is complete and utter bullshite.

I was just going by the numbers that the NCAA uses.

because the NCAA only counted scholarship athletes who entered the school as freshmen in 1991 and not the transfers and junior-college players

That is how the NCAA rolls. But please do not let the facts mess up a good defense

Cincinnati's media guide claims that 14 of 33 players who have completed their eligibility under Huggins also have earned their degrees.

If you are bragging about a 42% grad rate - you suck at life

Seriously?

Stanford is going through their worst stretch in 15 or 20 years because Johnson didn't recruit well enough. He won there off of Monty's guys and the Lopez twins who were going to Stanford no matter who the coach was. Dawkins was left with trash

Johnson should probably start cheating more. He left 0 talent at Stanford and the talent level at LSU has certainly fallen off a cliff

so it is obvious, you don't know what you are talking about

you both said that Huggins didn't graduate anybody for 8-9 years/ever...and there is a mountain of data out there that shows that ESPN was flat out wrong when they reported that back in the day

that's all I'm saying

How are they wrong? That is how the NCAA comes up with the grad rates.

ETA: and only having 33 players complete eligibility at Cincy under Huggins is laughable. That makes my 42% number drop probably to around 15%

I was mainly talking about LSU. He just finished his second year and Brady left him with no talent to work with. He's bringing in a pretty good freshman class next year.

because it's factually incorrect to say those kids didn't finish with degrees. I don't give a shite what that statistic says. There were two I know of from rival high schools of mine that I know for a fact graduated under Huggins

Like Huggins gives a shite what Trent Johnson has to say.

A LSU guy here told me that they didnt graduate a scholarship player for 12 years. Any truth to that?

No clue. For the last 6 years, LSU Basketball has a grad rate of 29%.

Good God, you do realize he just recently inked his SECOND recruiting class at LSU that's ranked top 15 (doesn't even factor in transfer Malcolm White). Last year's team was tremendously senior laden and Trent had nothing to do with that. You also have to factor in that the last two years Louisiana has produced below average talent which makes this most recent class even more impressive.

It's mostly when a guy makes a correct assessment that people throw out the "his team didn't even make the tourney and he did something in his past that sucks" defense.

geez. Outside of big baby, tyrus, and randolph and bass who left early?
MT,GT,Tas,Farrer,Terry martin, Quintin Thornton, Chris Johnson, Larzare, Mason are noticeable names that stayed 4 years. (but honestly no idea if they grad...just knew they were in college for 4 years..also don't know if JUCO transfers count)

no clue what you are trying to say

Are you saying that LSU's grad rate is not 29 percent over the last six years? The APR at LSU is so bad that is some guys on this years team do not get their grades this summer - the program will lose some scolies...

that within 4 years we have grad. 9 players...it just seems that for basketball that would be more than 29%. but I dont know the complete workings of how they decide what is counted and isn't.
now granted...7 of those 9 I mentioned were the last 2 years...still just seems low.
