Reading can be hard, so..

For all of the success Simmons has created for himself the past season and a half -- including winning Rookie of the Year last season and being voted into the All-Star Game as a reserve last month -- his lack of a jump shot often becomes the biggest talking point about his game.

Ben Choosing LSU over any other school showed that he really didn't give a shite about his college career

Simmons came to LSU because his Godfather was on the staff.

Literally the only reason.

considering one has already stayed for more than one year on campus and genuinely seems like he loves it here and has done everything necessary to win and played his arse off, I'll take Waters.

Simmons was a primadonna who just went through the motions during his time here.

Waters > Simmons

This is the same thing as asking Ethan Martin or Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf, one is a key piece to a very good team and the other is a great player that you build your team around

remember all the times Ben Simmons made a game winning shot for LSU.

There wouldnt be a need for a game winning shot. If Wade had Simmons we would blow everyone out.

I wish Ben Simmons had spent his semester and a half somewhere else.

Nothing brings out the pettiness and ignorance of a decent portion of our fanbase like a Ben Simmons thread.

He was on a team with more NBA players than any LSU team in history.

That's why he knew he could dick around for a year at LSU. If he was actually serious about winning a championship he would have gone to a top program.

Yep.

We didn’t get a sniff of Blakeney until Simmons left.

Well if Will Wade Has Simmons with the rest of the talent LSU has right now, we probably would be a National Title contender. So there is that.

Yeah, that's a good point. I think the players now just seem to care more cause they have Wade lighting a fire under their asses.

An important question in this debate is: What can a particular coach get out of a particular player with his coaching style. Wade couldn't get shite out of Brandon Sampson and he's in the NBA now.

Would Simmons and Wade have been a train wreck?

Or maybe I don't, I just wish it had happened. I recall one game, and one game only that Ben Simmons put LSU on his back and refused to lose, that game was at Vanderbilt. I don't know why we didn't get a full season's worth of that Ben Simmons.
all I know is I can't get past Marquette, where Ben had a one-on-one matchup with about 10 seconds left, and passed up the game winning shot. Even the no-name TV analyst was shocked by that.

But the worst was Oklahoma, where Ben ran and hid in the second half, and Musberger and even Vitale were BEGGING Simmons to engage, but he didn't. I'll never forget that.

Ben Simmons with Will Wade?

That’s fricking easy. Don’t be dumb.

And outscored the nearest point producer on said team by nearly 33%, 19.2-13.1.
This just shades their coach, not Simmons.
