re: Tremont Waters or Ben Simmons at LSU

Wade easily gets that Ben Simmons team into the tournament bare minimum. The early season collapses, and that late season collapse doesn’t even happen. That should show people how poorly coached that team was.

Agreed.

The questions seems to be an either/or, so Simmons would not be an addition to this team. You would add Simmons, but take away Waters.
Simmons is the better player, and it's not really debatable. It then just comes down to chemistry, coachability, etc.

Simmons was nothing but a finisher at the rim.
And an elite rebounder and passer for the PG position? And that "just a finisher at the rim" guy averaged over 19 pts and had over a 29 PER.
I like Tremont as a person and teammate more for sure, but Ben Simmons is one of the best point guards on the entire planet. Imagine the length on this team with him at PG.

but take away Waters.
Tough call, tough call

Yeah, and at the end of the season, teams took away the paint and literally let Simmons shoot uncontested.
He was awful.
He was awful.

Ya but it’s more than just the numbers. Do you remember the last 8 minutes of the Oklahoma game?

Exactly.
Johnny Jones was so fricking bad. Will Wade would've had that Ben Simmons team as a 5 seed. That was the worst coaching job for a single season in LSU basketball history. Look at where those players are now.
Insanity that we missed the tournament. Johnny completely lost the locker room.

Make shite up?
If you think teams didn’t learn how to flood the paint and make Simmons shoot & brick uncontested shots, then you simply weren’t watching.

First of all, this is hyperbole.
And even if it were true, our head coach now would easily scheme around that strategy with this roster. We're talking this roster with Ben Simmons instead of Waters.
Think of the Length on the floor with KBW, Naz, Marlon Taylor, Mays, and Simmons. Holy shite.

I love when people pimp Simmons FG% then deny he scored anything outside of dunks and layups.
Clint Capela has a great shooting % too!

i love when people act like its a negative when you are the best ball handler on the floor and can score at will.
