Also looking for good dive with Rock or blues music.
For those of you in Austin and looking for info on the music scene, pick up a copy of The Chronicle which you can usually find at restaurants and bars. Will have lots of info.
Saxon Pub on Lamar should be a good music venue.

About to head to Barton Springs pool now.
I’m walking around by the UT campus and I feel like I’m in a damn oven.

a lot of hip and trendy places over there. most are smaller and more intimate than the 15 person crowd
if you are looking for breakfast, send someone in the morning to dan's hamburgers for breakfast tacos. i know there are way more trendy places like juan in a million, but dans is a chain and their kitchen is used to getting fricked up with volume. you are gonna need a shite load of breakfast food and the smaller places cant always handle that.

Any Austin folks can enlighten me on what’s Uber like on a game day. I’m staying at my Uncles place near 35 on Slaughter. Don’t really feel like driving and looking for parking. Is it gonna be that hard? Plan on going up way before the game to pregame with some buddies.

Just caught the bats at Congress Bridge. They came out at about 745 and flew out for over 10 minutes straight. Worth stopping by!

I'm coming.

Uber is fine getting down there. Shouldn’t be an issue. Tons of active Uber’s.
Pro tip: after the game will likely have surge pricing, but it is usually limited to a specific area ie the stadium or sixth street etc. if you walk a few blocks south on red river and get off campus you can snag one easier and for a lot cheaper. Move your pin around a few blocks and the price updates. You may only have to walk a block or two for the difference between a $60 uber and a $10 uber. This also applies to sixth street.
Never had much issues, uber volume in this city is strong. Contraflow by the stadium is fricked to hell. Better to park/uber from a few blocks away for after.

Also just a reminder...was posted earlier in thread
The south endzone construction has removed 2 high flow entry gates. Plan to head into the stadium earlier. Was pretty congested during latech

Thanks Winston Cup. That helps a lot. I had no urge to drive and fight to get a parking spot. I’ll probably Uber down mid morning and see the scene till my buddies get there.

Ate at Shore raw bar and grill and the food was fantastic!
We had the
Shore d'oeuvres (lump crab topped fried green tomatoes)
Grilled oysters with chorizo lime butter
Raw oysters from 3 different locales
seafood and sausage gumbo
Six and six (fried shrimp and oysters)
Prime rib tacos
And fried fish tacos
Everything was fantastic.
Perfectly cooked and seasoned and not overly salty like so many places
Drinks were good but used orange bitters instead of regular so a bit over citrus
Atmosphere was laid back casual and service was excellent.
Prices were steep. (200)

Austin seems to be a much better college town in BR. Cool adult bars, dining and atmosphere. I hate to admit it but I have seen enough to make that conclusion.
