Perlas is good. And good location for going out downtown. I'm sure it's been mentioned in this thread but Shoal Creek Saloon is pretty decent (and obviously a big LSU watching spot)

Been there, it's amazing. Just order a bunch of different stuff, it's all stellar and the presentation is great.

I haven’t had a chance to dive into this thread... It was probably already mentioned. The section of 6th Street that everyone thinks off when it comes to 6th.. sucks. I mean Maggie Mae’s is still good for certain events. The blind Pig’s rooftop is not bad. Dirty side of 6th sucks. You have the Tsip students pissing on themselves drunk, and some
Passed out with no shoes onZ Dirty 6th Fails or 6th St fails group has funny videos & videos posted dail on FB. About every 60 days there is some epic brawl at Trinity & 6th. But 6th St West Of Congress is pretty decent to good. Also; west 6th has have some douche joints like Kung Fu and “The Ranch” was pretty cheesy for a whileZ But Dogwood’s male bartender that worked the outside bar is a big time LSU fan from Baton Rouge and it’s been that way for sometime. So Lavaca is not the “official bar”? I went to pretty much all of the LSU games at Lavaca. They have the big enclosed room that opens up to the bar. I like Shoal Creek Saloon but it’s small. Where would they put the over-flow? In Shoal Creek? I had to stand for pretty much game even regular day non-division Saints games when I lived there before Moving To the Heights.

The new area that Austin hits up is the area around the W and the base of Moody Theater. There is also some cool shops on 2nd which is the same street as the Willie Nelson statue sits at the base of Moody. Lot of cool rooftop lounges opened. Edge room bar is in that area. Also the Handlebar? The Roosevelt is in that area. The Elephant room is pretty cool. Lot of good eating joints around there including Maiko Sushi and “She’s Not Here”. Austin also has like unorthodox bars. One is the “garage” that is literally built in a garage. The area is essentially block south of 6th to Towne Lake starting around Colorado west to Nueces or West Ave. the corner of West 6th & Nueces is a pretty happening Area. Lil Woodrow’s is there. Still can’t believe Rattle Inn Shutdown In 2018 Their Rooftop Patio was massive and provided some Great views of the city and photo oops. Rattle Inn Downstairs is where Sturgill Simpson played his first Austin gig there in December, 2012. I was there along with 10 people. rustic tap is good it’s on the big W 6th/Nueces intersection. Avoid Rio unless douchin is your thing.

Stubbs Amphitheater is iconic but their restaurant is over-rated. Check Mohawk’s schedule for the weekend. Place is pretty Awesome. Also, The White Horse in East Austin on Comal and a block South of Way east 6th does Cajun night as part of their early Friday schedule. Also a very legit Food truck court is in that area. Hotel Vegas will probably have stuff going on. McConaughey Is known to stop in for big weekends. Haymakers is still a solid place in east Austin.

Rainey is always hopping. Sucks they got rid of the Rainey St food court. Banger Sausage & Beer garden is always poppin. I wouldn’t be surprised they bring in aBrass band and have them play in the garden. El Naranjo is a solid authentic Mexican restaurant on Rainey. Container bar is ok. I do like Clive bar and their decor. Lustre Pearl is Back open on Rainey . Icenhaur is awesome and Lucielle.. south Austin I just like more now. Saxon is a Austin institution.. La BBQ is a must. even tho franklin’s brisket is great.. don’t waste your time wasting half your day standing in 103 degree heat. Cooper’s is awesome.. chuy’s the original I always assumed is on Barton springs road. Terry Blacks is in that area as well. don’t drift to Far East Of I-35 south of towne lake unless you want to get mugged. If you all are staying In South Austin South Of Ben White, try Moontower Saloon. Also there are more and more solid texas country live music joints are popping up in south Austin or just south of it being most now live out there. Do512 still Have their place on S Lamar? Check theContinental club Schedule.. I have seen at times a big name will be scheduled on their bill. One Of the very first times I saw Tyler Childers play was at Continental club. Cedar St courtyard might have a tailgate scene.. also get ready to consider tailgating in parking garages which considering it will hot.. won’t be a bad option off trinity, San Jacinto, red river and Brazos garage

Also, don’t get robbed paying a ton to park in a parking garage. Austin city hall has
Always been inexpensive unless Their crappy current mayor jacked up the rates. Austin has plenty of street parking west of Congress as well as parking lots. Take Uber or the other ride shares when you can. Have to stop by Mean Eyed Cat before the place collapses. More of the iconic places are disappearing.

Oh and don’t drink and drive in Wilco(Round Rock)

Add Scholz Beer Garten to the list - 1607 San Jacinto Blvd. Austin. (Only half mile from stadium)

Scholz Garten in Austin is not only Texas’ oldest bar, but it’s also the oldest operating biergarten in the whole country.

Shout out to the Reuben Waffle Fries, Spätzle, Warm German Potato Salad (no mayo!), and the Schnitzels.
