Welcome to Louisiana, the Banana Republic. Just about dead last or near the bottom in almost every category that ranks how "Evolved" a state is. Mardi Gras mentality. It's the people stupid. It's why this state is the most littered state in the country. Just typical Louisiana drunken neanderneck pig slobs bringing their "Culture" to the campus of Louisiana State University.........

I love how there are people saying it's LSU's fault for not supplying enough trash cans. If that isn't some backwards arse logic then IDK what is.
Bring a couple of fricking trash bags along with your 32" HD TV, 5 ice chest, propane grill, 3 couches, 4 tents, 1000 Watt sound system, and 2 kegs.
Just stick them in the back of your pocket before you leave to tailgate that morning.

Mentality is so different in some parts of the country. Littering is a small problem around here. People should take pride in their "own front yard."

the people of louisiana are a very trashy people....all anti litter campaigns have been a failure....even the people of texas got their act together years ago...no matter where you go in the state ---roads, rivers, lakes, bayous,,,trash is present in epidemic proportions...we are just a low class breed an will never change

my daugther went to a an expensive private school in baton rouge...even these supposedly "enlightened" kids were clusless about waste, just as most of the lsu student body is clueless about waste...kids are pigs and by implication, their parents are pigs

Just an FYI. The North and West sides of the Parade Ground did not get trash can delivery on Saturday.
No excuses, but it certainly didn't help.

Just looking at these pictures makes me sad for the state of Louisiana. If this shite happened in here in Spokane (or anywhere in the Pacific NW), heads would be fricking rolling. This would be front page news and you can bet your arse it'd only happen once.

Agreed, but shouldn't the city lead by example in cutting the Fn Grass, cleaning the disgusting concrete overpasses, weedeating, fixing the fences that border the frontage roads and are falling down and being taken over by the earth again? Cannot we somehow find a way to replace the broken and missing guard rails along the interstate? It really is ugly as sin, and a complete embarassment.
As far as I can see, the trashy mentality of many of the citizens and the complete disconcern amongst our city officials are pretty much intertwined and yet BOTH send a very strong message to anyone who ever drives through Baton Rouge or visits, and that is that the people of this city are trashy and quite simply don't place any emphasis on their appearance. It screams Lazy, Unconcerned, and just plain TRASHY HUMANS.
