People really can be worthless human beings sometimes. Love to ask them if they think their mothers are coming to clean this mess up for them. Disgusting.

Because of the trashing of campus, and people like BT, who are the "owners of Tailgateville" and feel the need to claim eminent domain over all of campus, we eventually gave up on tailgating
what are you gonna do next, cry about it?

I also think those couches are from Sig Ep (Sigma Phi Epsilon), and I guarantee you their pledges came and got them.
I've been disappointed with Sig-Ep there at LSU. The house was in such good shape when the chapter was re-installed in '91. Last time I went by, the doors were hanging by a hinge, couches were sitting out behind the house similar to the photos in this post, and there seemed to be no pride. If these are Sig-Ep couches, maybe those young men need to transfer to WVU where these couches could be put to better use after a win.
It's a problem that doesn't exist only at LSU though. It permeates the entirety of the public universities across the United States. Ever since the idea that everyone had a RIGHT to a college education, the quality of student has gone down, resulting in poor academic performance, which in turn results in the dumbing down of the curriculum, and a university graduate that is, at best, nearly adequately prepared to fill out his unemployment paperwork.
The lack of pride and initiative in keeping your tailgating spot on campus clean is just another indicator that you have no business attending The Ol' War Skule.
Dammit! I want to puke when I see the parade grounds left looking like that! And if those are Sig-Ep's couches left sitting around like they belong in front of a trailer in Mingo County, West Virginia, then I'll be removing the Sig-Ep alumni pin from my lapel. I'm generally easy-going, but THAT is a ****ing DISGRACE!

A lot of people are saying its fraternities that are doing a lot of it, but there are thousands of people out there that aren't students.
True, but it does take care of a lot of the trouble makers.
A lot, as in 10% of the student population. GTFO. The VAST majority of the people out tailgating, making a mess and pissing off the old people aren't even students, much less Greeks. Get over your inferiority complex.

I recommend to start jack slapping anyone seen throwing trash on the ground. Pigs.

I'd love to hear where this inferiority complex is being perceived. I'm a student. I tailgate. I see a lot of other students tailgating. I didn't say a goddamned thing about it being a Greek issue. A front page article in the student paper WOULD take care of some of the problems.
If it's just the frats that are leaving trash, then based on my walk around campus after the WVU game LSU has about 20,000 students in fraternities, which is pretty impressive.

Register(number) the spots and require permits with individuals info paying for the permit. All of this BS would stop if people knew they could be located and fined.

I'm sure it's only 17-20 year olds!

I tailgate in the Oak Grove behind the Greek Theater. We pick up before we go to the game, but coming back, all the folks at the top of the hill right next to Pentagon left the worst mess of trash I've ever seen after a game. They all buy the styrofoam ice chests and leave them there after, along with mountains of cans and bottles.
Makes me sick. This particular crowd happened to be students--not saying all are, as most tailgaters are not. But if you tailgate here, you know who you are.

Totally Agree, Fantastic Idea!

y'all are making way too big of a deal over this - it just gives the fine folks from the Dixon Correctional Institute a chance to get out and get some fresh air, and costs LSU nothing (or a nominal fee).

we tailgate over at the box. Nice and clean, everyone took care of their trash.

I do not think you blame this on 17-20 year old idiots alone. I have seen the slobs who regularly tailgate on Nicholson Room between Skip Berman Drive and the Old Front Nine of the golf course....These guys/gals seem to intentionally try to make a mess to see just how much trash/garbage they can leave behind. I have always wondered why blatant acts like this are not at least patrolled and fined.

fine the phuck out of them - if and in a lot of cases this is a big if - if they have game tickets.. TAKE THEM.

I'm with you, we do our best to keep clean in our area. Once the few trash cans were full I bagged it and started with just the cans the second time and they still over flowed. Game was way too late and not enough cans around us. But those pics are inexcusable.

PARROTDR,
We tailgate near there as well. I know the ones at the top of the hill next to the Pentagon are members of Pi Kappa Alpha. F-ing disgrace. You would think their pledges would pick it up.

Honestly, the LSU SGA and the Reveille needs to step up and work with the campus sanitation crews and LSUPD. They know what groups are destroying the areas. Shame them. Publicize that so and so group or whatever were a bunch of trashbags. Fine the hell out of them or better yet, force them to pick up on Sundays or their charters get revoked or kick the organization out of LSU.
