I didn't leave until game was over.

It took me about 15 - 20 minutes to walk to vehicle and about 15 minutes to get home once I got in my truck. Traffic moves on Highland.

I park on a private lot by South gates on Highland and live right past Kenilworth.

The mentality to leave before any paid event is over is just ridiculous. If traffic is an issue, stay home.

I agree. A perfect way to see a game to me is to drive to the stadium to where I'm hitting my seats about five minutes before pregame. I'm there to see the game.

There are too many people that are there to do just the opposite. That point (five mins to pregame) to them is the end of their interest with LSU for the day and everything else is just bonus.

Ok, so you cannot relate to 80% of LSU fans that bitch about traffic. That's literally a ten min (if that) drive on a non-gameday. What do you suggest for those of us that don't live an earshot away from LSU's campus? I say BRPD needs to contra flow the shite out of every major roadway leading out from LSU.

for the record I don't leave early, but I can't fault people who don't want to wait 2 hours to drive 10 miles down the road...

Many do not want it to take 1.5 hours to get on I-10 when they have multiple hours to drive after reaching I-10.

The traffic is horrid. About as horrid as the passing game.

For the record, I have never left a game early, but I sat in traffic forever after the WVU game. It took me about 45 minutes to get out of the parking lot and on to Dalrymple, then about another 30 minutes to get to the interstate.

After the Mississippi State game, I-12 West had one lane closed from about Denham Springs. Talk about a nightmare. Regardless, I wouldn't use that as an excuse to leave early. It's just part of going to the games.

It isn't traffic.
Haven't you noticed that it has been much worse in the past couple of years?
It got much worse when they changed the rules about smoking in tiger stadium. 3 hours is a long time for a smoker, especially if they have been drinking.
And once people start leaving, everybody else starts thinking about it.

The old Ag Center Parking lot or the Law School lot. (or even farther out) I don't mind walking.

Acadian Thruway when in the Agcenter parking lot and Daylrymple (sp) when in the Law school lot.
The honest truth is that Saturday was one of the quickest rides home I've ever taken.

Those parking passes are great for getting to the game quickly but hellish if you want to get home in a timely manner. I'd just sit back in the car and listen to the post game show if I was stuck for an hour in traffic (which I have been on occasion). BUT seriously, if you are paying money for great tix and a great parking spot, why would you leave the game when it's a one possession game? I don't get that.

I did not sit in traffic for one second leaving the game and I didn't leave until the alma mater was over. Leaving because of traffic is just retarded.

I stayed until the band was leaving the stadium too. I sat in traffic for about an hour. It all depends on where you tailgate and park. Traffic IS a nightmare after games

It is beyond outrageous. Getting home at 2 am makes for a rough Sunday.

traffic is a nightmare at any sporting event where 92k people are trying to leave. using that as an excuse for leaving early is lame. also, whats more important to people, the game or the tailgating? whats the point of tailgating for 6 hours if you are gonna leave at halftime? to me, football is the most important part of the day, to others its getting drunk.

It usually takes over an hour just to get out of the hayfield parking lot on river road. Then about another hour to get to the interstate.

Wait until the game ends, go back to your tailgating location, drink more beer, and leave about 2 hours after that.

If I lived in Baton Rouge and lived between 2 and 10 miles from Tiger Stadium, I'd try riding my bike to and from games.

I heard an older gentleman explain this to me this week. It's no excuse! This is the reason most of these people on TD are complaining. If you can't hang around for an additional 15 minutes, and deal with the traffic, then don't go to the game. Give up your tickets, you don't deserve them.

....for all of you who continue to put down people who leave early...
IT IS THEIR MONEY, they can do whatever they want with it.
quit trying to tell people what to do...
who in the hell died and left you GOD.

I would love to see people stay all the way thru, but I AM NOT THEIR BOSS-I DO NOT PAY FOR THEIR TICKETS

I am from out of town and can not go to games, when I do, I stay until is over because I want to..my choice.
..I am just fed up with many here always trying to impose the likes/ dislikes on others.

you want to stay all night..DO IT
-your choice, just like it is theirs to leave.

BTW some people have hours to drive before they get back home..and extra hour in traffic is a big deal to them.

TAF has converted LSU Gameday fans into your typical 'be seen' fans... much like Texas fans. Come late, leave early, ask somebody the score the next morning, talk sh**.

This hits it on the head.

LSU crowds used to stay until the bitter end. For example, in the 41-14 rout of Kentucky in 1996, the stadium was full the last few minutes, with the fans screaming for the Tigers not to let Kentucky score a garbage touchdown to break 20 points.

I know, because I was there then, and I'm there now.

Forget all these bullshite traffic excuses.

The good seats are all owned by big corporations.

Those tickets are then used by these fairweather fans who jumped on board when it became "cool" to be an LSU fan--the corporate drone daddy, the soccer mom mommy, who put the little fake LSU tatoos on the kids' cheeks and think it's cool.

They leave at halftime or a little later, no matter what the score.

Yes, I know it's an arms race and we need money.

TAF turning Tiger Stadium into a Corporate Coliseum and pricing the old, passionate, beer-drinking Tiger fan out of his seats, has gotten us a lot of money and a lot of facilities.

But TAF has perhaps taken from us something a lot more valuable--the intimidating aura of Tiger Stadium on a Saturday night.

LSU's traffic woes are small compared to other SEC schools (the exception might be Vandy, but who cares about them anyway). We travel with the Tigahs and Knoxville, Athens, Gainesville, Auburn and Tuscaloosa are all far tougher places to leave. No. People leave early for a variety of reasons. They're spoiled. They have small kids at home, they have to get up early and go to work, they're po'd at Miles for wasting so much offensive talent, or you name it, but it ain't traffic.

I have season tickets and used to stay to the bitter end every game.

Now I live in Houston and I can only attend a few games a year but I still take my 79 year old dad. It takes him 30 minutes to get up to our seats. It takes him 20 minutes to get down when leaving. If he doesn't start ahead of time he gets trampled.

He lives in MS and there is alot of road construction on the interstate just East of Baton Rouge. By leaving a little early we beat alot of traffic and got home before 2 am (still very late to be up driving).

We leave in the fourth quarter with 4-5 minutes remaining if the game ends very late like it did Staurday night.

Evryone has there own reasons for doing things. Don't judge someone til you've walked a mile in their shoes.
