I think if we get Chicken to support this with a sticky, we can make this happen. Hopefully.

Don't we still do that?
Everyone just yells "ooohhhhhh" then gives a little extra umph when the ball is kicked. Unless everyone but the student section is doing it and I can't hear it, then I'm pretty sure we haven't been doing the geaux tigers on kickoffs.
When I was just starting to go to the games regularly in the mid 1970's, during kick-offs, students where saying "Ole'", like at a bull fight. They would sing their arms in a circle like they had a sombrerro, or they would actually use a cap if they were wearing one, and as the kicker was preparing to kick the ball, they'd start the prolonged "Oooooo", and when the ball was kicked they would say "Laaayyy!".
How this started, I have no idea, but for the tens of thousands of other fans who had no idea what they were doing, this morphed into four subsets, the "Goooooo - Oh", the "Ooooooo-Oh", and the "Goooo - Tigers!". The fourth subset, "Ooooo - Hey!" seems to have died off.
I'd like to see some standardization. I vote for "Gooooo - Tigers!" The meaning behind the original "Ole'" seems to have been lost to history.

Any luck working Facebook to rally the fans to "Tigerbait" the opposing team when they enter the field?

I know it's been said, but you can't say this stuff enough...
1. No canned music (we're no Florida State!)
2. Tigerbaiting... all the time, everywhere,
especially when the other team enters (I personally do it on the interstate, in church during the meet & greet, in the grocery aisle...)
3. Park Mike back in front of opposing team's locker room. I was told once that they'd stopped putting him REALLY close so that they had to pass within inches of him, and I'd really like to reinstate that if it has indeed changed like I heard. This is all dependent, of course, on Mike actually getting in the cage...
4. Dressing up a little for the games. Back in the 60's and 70's, EVERYONE wore dress shirts and ties, and women wore dresses. I'm not suggesting we go back entirely to that, but don't roll out bed in your pajamas, throw on a yellow wig and smear purple paint on your face, and call it Saturday. Have a little dignity and respect for your school. That's my personal opinion, don't hate me. I just feel like we're all respresenting our school & state and when we dress up like morons, well...

Okay and that's probably too much to ask for from the "powers-that-be". However, how about giving the band director a kill switch, so that canned music is not competing with our legendary, award-winning marching band? Is that too much to ask?

Why can't some of the canned music be recorded TGBFTL music? Especially toward the end of the first half, when the band is making its way to the field for halftime, I'd like to continue to hear the 3rd down song, the 4th down song, and a "GEAUX TIGERS" chant until halftime.

I would like to see the fans stop booing when the opposing team comes out before the game. The tradition used to be for everybody to yell "Tigerbait" in unison.
This, except for when we play Auburn or any other "Tiger" teams. Of course, Auburn has the whole identity crisis thing, but that's another topic.

On the canned music, I actually like it for pre-game, but I would change some of the selections. "Louisiana Saturday Night" has to go. If there was ever a song that perpetuated Louisiana redneck stereotypes, that would be it (plus, it sucks).
You know, nt doubting the power of the Rant, but the quickest way to get everyone back on track with "Tigerbaiting" the opposing team and to yell "GEEEAAAAUUUUUXXX - TIGERS!" on the kick-off would be to put it on that big beautiful new video board! They already put "Get Loud" and other stuff up there, as well as the words for the Alma Mater. Also, I believe they do that for "Hey, Fightin' Tigers", so they could do the same for the real Fight Song to help everyone catch on.

I'd agree with that-- often wondered that myself, why we can't pipe in band music when band is getting settled/moving down for halftime show/taking a break.
While I'm a personal fan of LA Sat Nite, I'd be fine with mixing it up some. Maybe some of Alley Broussard's stuff? It's different/relevant. But pregame and post halftime only while the band is out of commission.

It would probably be better to wait until closer to a home game.

How about getting Mike to roar! They don't even try anymore!

I like this, and I try to do it just about every game but always look like an idiot. But I still try to get it going.

What??? That is by far the best part of the piped in music.

The number one tradition/old school thing I want returned to Tiger Stadium is a properly cultivated and maintained field of grass. I'd like to see a field that doesn't start falling apart with massive grass uprooting after the second or third home game. Also, a properly painted field on game day, that doesn't look like a bunch of third graders with cans of Krylon spray paint were let loose on the field. The Tiger Eye needs to be bigger, the endzone logos MUCH bigger and the border surrounding the field needs to be gold. Not just because of tradition, but because it just looks a lot better..........
