Can’t beat the power house teams? Good pitching shutdown good hitting.

I’m wondering if they’ll turn in to mens BB team. Play a weak preconference and rack up wins just to get hammered later. Hope not. Tenn is a great team so we’ll see next weekend.

Failure to make changes in staff is her downfall and will cost her job.

There are BBQ buddies with Les Miles and Peveto and Kelly and Polian but they did make changes.

Torino takes the BBQ buddies to a whole new level

I like Beth but She only has herself to blame for not getting a new hitting coach years ago.

She finally has her 'senior heavy' experienced lineup after we were 'young' for the last 3 years and they were taken to the woodshed all weekend at the plate

Tenn has a great pitching staff. Hopefully, that will be the best LSU will face this year.

Same 2 assistants she's had since she got here, right? 12 years

It’s been awhile since Torina has had a good hitting team.

Yup

But my thing is eventually things do get stale. It happens to the best of the best. To maintain a high level of play or elevate your game you eventually have to change things but we appear to just be content where we are at.

We will have solid teams, not be worst of the worst but won't contend for a SEC title. And the lack of adjustments will make things more difficult moving forward to get to OKC (which we are about to be over 6 years away from).

Heck we haven't won a super regional game in years

She's something else.

But y'all love her for some unknown reason.

Torina and Dobson are living on Easy Street. Make the NCAA's and they're safe. Every year seems like a rerun of the previous year.

Either the players can hit or they can’t. You have what two pitchers that pitch for your team all season ?

How smart do you have to be to be a softball coach. Beth lays low and collects a sizable check every week.

Is anyone beating OU anyway ?

Yes, not since 2022. The problem last year was pitching, not hitting.

Once OU and Texas join the SEC, it will get even tougher for us to contend.

The problem I have with this is that the explanation for LSU’s problems last season was not hitting woes. At the beginning of the current WCWS dry spell it was hitting that was the issue. Hitting has been on an upward trajectory the last several years. Last year, the problem was having only one reliable pitcher and even she wasn’t at the same level as the pitchers in the WCWS years. The issue for the program has been not being able to put it altogether in the same season.

I’ve said it on here before and I still firmly believe it. The problem the last couple of years was the regression by Sunseri (as a hitter and a pitcher) and Wickersham. Had their careers continued on an upward trajectory, the opinion everyone has of the program would be dramatically different. The question remains if the issue was more with the players or the coaches. Did COVID change priorities (either for the players or the coaches? Has Torina not adapted to changes in hitting approaches when developing her pitchers? Is she just not as hungry as she was when she was younger?

I felt like the pandemic was enough of a reason to give it some time to let the dust settle. If the hitting continues to show signs of regression and/or the pitching doesn’t progress, then the issue was clearly not just those two players. I’m just not going to draw that conclusion yet.

Problem also is she is bringing in the number 1 player in the country next year so do you move on and lose her who is a pitcher or do you tell her you have to fire some assistants.

She brought in the number two player in the country this year. She was supposed to be the savior of LSU softball. Right now she has the lowest batting average on the team and cannot compete at the plate at the college level.
