quote:

Neither are top round picks

yeah i'm not trying to shite on LSU players but neither of these guys has any business leaving early

Charles is also a G in the NFL at best. Charles screams "good college player with limited NFL potential" so he needs to stay as long as he can in college to increase his reputation

if Cush tests out well, he could probably get drafted in the first 4 rounds. usually Cs have to be utterly dominant to get drafted high. Cush is good but not dominant. also i don't think he's 315 and power is an issue with him (hence the comment about testing out well)

Charles isn’t going anywhere especially after playing basically half a season. Cush is 50/50 depending on how we finish. The rest should come back. Also with Thomas coming back from injury and Ingram we are set. Ingram is elite and with a full season next year he is a first or second rounder. Our OL will be good to great next year with added depth coming in with a great haul in recruiting(fingers crossed). Coach O is building a legit top 3 program here and for the long haul.

i think Cush is definitely the bigger threat to leave than Charles, which is OK b/c Hines looked good last year as a true frosh

if Dare took the step he could be LT with Charles at LG

Dare
Charles
Hines
Ingram
Dec

or if a more normal progression occurred

Charles
Ingram
Hines
Kardell
Dec

It's not just their draft potential. Will Clapp knew he was going to be a low round pick, but after playing for three years NFL teams said that they had seen what he was as a player and there wouldn't be a lot he could do to improve his stock. Might be a similar thing with Charles and Dec they've been playing since their Freshman year

Where are they going? They’re not high on anyone’s draft boards.

This is all so funny considering how many people said the OL & the OL depth was trash last year

No no no. It had nothing to do with the rash of unprecedented injuries to the OL lmao

Charles likely returns. Cush has been getting a lot of love from scouts. Could be the top C drafted

They are coming back. Why do you all insist that if players may be draftable they should go. Only declare for draft if you will be taken early. I’ve posted this before. Average career nfl is a little over 3 years. Your first contract is very important. Stay. Improve. Make more money. First or second round picks consider going is a little different

Guys recently that have made mistake by going early;
Tolliver
Hawkins
Alexander
Machi Dupree

Had they stayed things may have gone differently for them

Cushenberry is good as gone. He will more than likely play guard at the next level. He will grade out as a lye second or third round pick. Just my opinion but Charles is gone as well

We’ve seen players leave early and they have seen players leave early as well. Most of those players are out the league if we talking about o linemen. Both of these guys should be coming back without question. They both have weaknesses that will get magnified at the next level.
